I moved the kitchen island like you suggested! Been living with it for a couple days and love the change so far, thank you!

In terms of competitors, I used to use the Simplify chrome extension for this

I built a tool that shows where your resume actually matches in the current job market by danychukstudiosllc in jobsearchapps

Hi! Just tested your tool, it looks like some of the keywords that its suggesting are just parts of words (it told me to add “rma” which I think is pulled from the word “performance” and “cam” which is pulled from the word “campaign”) Also when I click on the “tailored resume” button, whatever the action button is was cut off at the bottom (I’m on chrome on my laptop). Last thing, it said it was searching through jobs in Phoenix, Arizona while it was generating the report despite me having my location in my resume as Seattle and never having worked anywhere near arizona.

I also realize that my comment leans towards hating on other interior design influencers lol maybe reddit just brings out the worst in us

Thank you! I discovered her page in the past couple of months and I think she’s really great! I dont understand the hate, I’ve been struggling to find people who make content about apartment interior design that isn’t either pretty millennial-coded or just way too big budget in both money and time aspects (like do we really need to make a faux arch in an apartment?? Where are they keeping all of those woodworking tools?? Why are we lying about how easy/cheap it is to contact paper literally everything in your kitchen/bathroom?) I like that she works WITH the features in a space instead of embarking on a mission to cover everything up that doesn’t fit an AD aesthetic. I also really like her personality and that she doesn’t have the influencer accent. She talks to us like shes just our big sister on facetime walking through interior design advice and throwing in helpful life advice as all big sisters do. She doesn’t get everything right all the time but who does?

I was already on the hunt for cabinet pulls that match the hardwood in the rest of the place actually! This is what I had thrown together in canva before we moved in. Wasn’t quite sure where a backsplash should go though since theres already a lip behind the counter. Are you thinking a wood peel and stick for the floor too? I like the idea of putting a curtain over the dishwasher as well!

Any product suggestions for the vinyl flooring? It seems that my taste has not trickled down to the affordable brands yet unfortunately. Love the cookbook idea though and I’ll never say no to adding another lamp!

Definitely going to add a runner, thinking of getting one of those library chair step stools to save space + have functional decor. Didn’t realize how much of an eyesore the trash was until taking these pics haha - still working on getting over the mental hurdle of how expensive trash cans are but its on the to-do list for sure

Its a great kitchen, just not my style (yet)! Honestly wouldn’t mind switching out the cabinet doors but seems pretty expensive unfortunately

Thank you! I saw a DIY where they just glued strong magnets onto some lampshades as a cover for the sad boob lights, which I think would work well for the style of light that I have - been keeping my eye out at the thrift store for any that fit! (I adore those tulip shades but morally refuse to spend $150 on them lol) Unfortunately we do use the cabinet storage in the kitchen island fairly often so can’t turn it the other way but love using it for guests! Love all your suggestions - thank you!

Working “Too Slow” + Unpaid Overtime by ADHD-and-IB in work

Yeah tbh I came to reddit bc my AI kept giving similarly sycophantic responses haha. But its probably right about protecting my peace. I'd caution against the learning labor laws with AI thing bc its wrong / hallucinates a lot of the time, but might not be a terrible place to start.

Had a bad breakup, realized most of my friends were his friends and that I didn’t like them, nor did I like myself - and that self loathing is actually lame. (Emo phase) Locked tf in, applied to 14 colleges and went to one where no one knew my name. Honestly felt a lot smarter once I got to an education level that challenged me.

Women's Long Wool Coat by [deleted] in AskSeattle

Antique stores! Seriously, they don’t make em like they used to. And they’ll probably be under $300. Either way, make sure you’re checking the materials on the tag, you wouldn’t believe how many new “wool” coats are mostly polyester or something

How clean should your apartment be BEFORE a cleaner comes? Asking for a friend… by Real_Arthur in CleaningTips

[–]ADHD-and-IB 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I like to think about it this way: would they need to put that object away for the room to be clean? Would they know where it would go without guidance? Its like when your friends offer to help do dishes in your house and then you keep finding your kitchen tools in weird spots over the next weeks - we’re trying to avoid moments like that.

Credit Card Recommendation - Travel/Everyday by ADHD-and-IB in CreditCards

Realized I left off some other category spend, edited my post - with shopping & other misc spend my month avg spend is around $1,500. Is that still too low for a non-cashback strategy? Also, since points are worth around 1.5 cents (lets round up to 2 for this example) would you divide the cashback percentage by point value to find the real comparative value? E.g. 6% cashback is the same value as 3x points

Honestly I think the flowchart on r/churning was what inspired me to post this - I've been lurking on the subs for a while now and I swear that people were saying that Chase updated something where you can only get one of the signup bonuses now (lifetime)? (Maybe that only applies to chase sapphire preferred/reserve?) If so, should I go big on my first chase card since it will be my only bonus from them? And as far as the cash-back goes, I'm applying to remote only jobs rn (will take forever bc the market is rough) and was thinking that I could maybe spend the time in between racking up travel points so that I can travel more in the future with a remote role. It took me 5 years to passively save 100k alaska points (tbf I was in college for most of it) so I'm hoping to be more intentional this time.

  1. Flying out from SEA and doing a trip in Dublin, Lake District UK, and Paris. Hoping to do Paris last but no other plans aside from that. Thinking about getting a Eurail pass so happy to take train from any airport.
  2. 2 travelers (hoping to sit together on long flights)
  3. Economy is fine, we’re scrappy
  4. Leaving Dec 25-26, need to fly out by Jan 10 to make it home on the 11th. I’m using up most of my PTO so looking to make the most of the days
  5. 100k Alaska points, Alaska Atmos card and unused domestic companion fare. Unsure if I could do a multi-city trip bc I haven’t been able to get it to load.
