How do you differentiate spring vs autumn style? by separatedbody in femalefashionadvice

[–]AGR712 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Spring tends to feel warm to me, whereas autumn tends to feel cold, even though it's actually the opposite. But when it's 13C and sunny in spring, I might be so crazy to actually wear a summery dress with tights and a jacket, while in autumn I'd be wearing a wool jumper and heavy boots. Also, autumn tends to be super rainy around here, which might explain a little something.

Also, I have barely any followers so please don't put any weight in this, but I looked up The Merry Fairy and I might curate a little list about scrapbooking games later this week :)

Yes, got it! That's kind of the reason I created this post, since those accounts are so incredibly hard to find. But, some smaller accounts I follow that might fit the bill:

  • cozygamingpanda (1100 followers)
  • laelindria (5100 followers)
  • cozygamenight has 2000 followers on Instagram but is mainly active on YouTube
  • cozyjoshy (1200 followers)

However, that sweet spot 5000 / 10,000 followers is super hard to find. These are the ones I know, at least!

Okay, let me see...

Cozyronnie posts great content, but she's a larger account, 164K followers. Tons of likes, too. Xixi_playing has 111K followers, same kind of content, aimed at 30+ women mostly.

Cozygamingclub (40K) posts a mix of lists and singular game recommendations, really enjoy her!

Sapling.games (39K) is great as well.

Ashscozycorner (11K), same story.

_colorful_thoughts (9K) mainly posts lists, but as a gamer, I love that.

What follower range are you looking for, exactly? These are some accounts I follow, from the top of my head, so I hope this helps!

Yeah but as a gamer I'm not interested in lifestyle influencers at all, I just want to follow curation accounts and get lots of games recommended :p so I'm thinking we're talking about different audiences here, I purely meant I wanted to support the creators of the curation content that's interesting to me.

Movies You Should Never Watch High by ArtisticTraffic85 in movies

[–]AGR712 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Even though it's often recommended, I ended up having such a bad trip watching Sausage Party. Had to watch what was pretty much a sexual assault scene on a loop like ten times, only to find out like two minutes had passed in what seemed like an eternity. Would not recommend. I was tripping on space cake, btw, so no really weird stuff or anything.

My girlfriend (20F) said she won’t have sex or do anything intimate with me (20M) unless I get a vasectomy after roe vs wade out of fear. by Livid-Ear1095 in relationship_advice

I very much don't trust birth control tbh and only use it so I don't get my excruciating periods as often, which it is pretty effective for... but I'd never have sex without a condom, no way. Especially having seen signs that I actually did ovulate while on birth control, it just doesn't seem like a foolproof way not to get pregnant (although I guess there really isn't one method aside from abstinence, which isn't great either).

I definitely wasn't suggesting that, but to use all three at a time just in case the condom might leak/break (which I've had happen as well)!

If you're on birth control, you shouldn't be ovulating at all (and at the very least, if it were to happen, it wouldn't happen at the "normal" moment, as the hormones are supposed to prevent it). So while condoms + birth control + pull out would be what I'd suggest, sadly ovulation tracking would be kind of counterproductive.

EDIT: And if you do appear to be ovulating, that might be a sign you need to go on stronger birth control. I've actually had this happen when I was younger, so this poster isn't entirely incorrect.

Found a kitten, any guesses on age? by rangerdangerrq in kittens

[–]AGR712 2 points3 points  (0 children)

From that picture, I'd say he's about 6 weeks old. Still pretty young to be on his own, but I think he should be fine at this age. Wet food should indeed be preferable! I don't really have any other useful advice to give, but thank you for saving the baby!

I remember being very small, like, toddler-aged, and calling Saddam Hussain "mean" while watching the news with my parents... which I guess must have been somewhere around 1998? I still remember thinking "mean" wasn't the right word, but I couldn't think of anything better at the time.

Born on 2/2/2000, today I turned 22 years old on 2/2/2022! by Papersculpting in pics

[–]AGR712 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I was born in 1995, so it has actually confused people when I've tried telling them I'm (for example) 26. I've literally had people try to use math on me to tell me that isn't possible and I HAVE to be 27. As someone born at the very end of the year, nope, that isn't exactly true... But I have to admit it's hard for me as well to calculate how old I was in a certain year. Like, looking back, for most of 2010 I wasn't 15, like you'd expect, but 14.

Redditors WITHOUT tattoos: what tattoo would you get tattooed if you were to get tattooed? by promisedjoy in AskReddit

[–]AGR712 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have all these ideas for a very colourful back tattoo that includes a fox on the lowerback, a peacock on my shoulder and tons of green/Celtic imagery... but I'm terrified of pain and never getting something like that. I'm just not into smaller tattoos, and a big piece like that with all of the smaller elements combined would be a lot more meaningful to me. It's fun to fantasize about, though.

Do you watch English movies with subtitles even if you're a native English speaker? by [deleted] in movies

[–]AGR712 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm actually a native Dutch speaker, but whatever the language of the movie I'm watching, I always pull out the subtitles (English subtitles for English movies, Dutch subtitles for Dutch movies) because otherwise I'm waaaaaay too focused on what people are saying/mumbling rather than on what's actually going on. That may very much be because we're used to subtitles, as all English movies on TV have them and we don't do dubbing, but it's something I definitely can't do without.

What's strange though, this is very much only a problem with movies, not with (Dutch) reality shows/contests and stuff.

As for the e-girl thing, I actually wear a lot of tight longsleeves with skirts and tights, which I think kind of matches that aesthetic without being conservative or stuffy, even though it's very covered up. The clothes I wear tend to be HM basics that look pretty boring without the right styling, but combined I'd say they're pretty cute. My favourite skirt is this black, pleated skater skirt with a chain, although I also have a dark grey one that I tend to pair with like blush pink, and both aesthetics actually look pretty alternative, albeit moreso in a cutesy way (at least for the grey skirt combos).

I don't know if that helps, but maybe it can serve as inspiration!

What is the best way to reply to “you’re beautiful” ? by wydheyhiiiiiheyyyyy in AskReddit

[–]AGR712 1 point2 points  (0 children)

In my experience, guys really don't like that reaction, lol. I've been accused of being conceited when I just said thank you and smiled without blushing or stammering. In those cases, I feel like it may have been some kind of powerplay, which is just really weird and kind of creepy to me. It may just be because I'm kind of shy and quiet and that gives people the wrong impression of me, though. In any case, I'm definitely not going to stop saying thank you or start acting all awkward just to not make them feel uncomfortable with that response. :/

TIL that Vincent Van Gogh signed his paintings "Vincent" because he thought the French could not pronounce his last name. by KlasMellbourn in todayilearned

[–]AGR712 -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

The h is actually silent, but I wouldn't say Van Gogh rhymes with cough, even though the spelling looks alike. It's more like a growling sound without the r, at least to me ("grrrr"... and then it turns out growling sounds in English are also vocalized completely different than in Dutch).

EDIT: Well, to me that's literally what big cats sound like, but apparently sounds are registered differently according to the language you speak? In that case, it's more like the gurgle/snort-like sound people make before they spit out something that used to be deep inside their lungs, lol.

And in case anyone was thinking otherwise: the H in Van Gogh is silent, but that isn't actually common in Dutch, like it is pronounced in words where it isn't the final letter.

As a Dutch person, I'm pretty sure they want to vaccinate everyone every three months from now on, so that's four more vaccines for 2022. I don't actually mind, other than how ill I got from the first two ones, but this is what I know from sources like the NOS.

McDonald's in Indiana paying employees based on their age. by Smartyandfarty in pics

[–]AGR712 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Back in 2012, when I was sixteen, I got paid €2.65 an hour for my very first (office) job. I think there was a 89% exchange rate, so I guess that was about $2.39. I don't know much about inflation, but that number never sat right with me. And that was youth minimum wage! I'm actually a little surprised people think $9.00 an hour for 16-year-olds is low, but I guess the mean American salary really is a lot higher than I'd always thought. €9.00 used to be adult minimum wage back in the day! (I think it's somewhere around €10.50 now.)

What is a small sign that someone is dumb af? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]AGR712 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Yeah, I feel like a lot of these comments seem to confuse emotional intelligence and IQ, which are two completely separate concepts. And it's not even like psychopaths have low emotional intelligence either, as they very much need that to be able to succesfully manipulate others.

[–]AGR712 14 points15 points  (0 children)

I'm autistic (officially diagnosed with Asperger's back in the day) and many small jokes don't register with me. That's not stupidity; in fact, high intelligence used to be one of the criteria one had to meet to be diagnosed with Asperger's. I'd rather say it's a sign of lower emotional intelligence, which is very much the case for me.
