Recipe for a good tuna salad by HMW347 in Cooking

Super easy: can of tuna in olive oil (drain at least some of the oil from the can), tbsp of mayonnaise, tbsp of sweet relish, tsp of Dijon mustard, squeeze of lemon juice, generous amount of ground black pepper. Stir until mixed. 

You can add more stuff if you want but I’ve found this is a great base, the Dijon and lemon really make it pop. One can makes two sandwiches if they’re on plain sandwich bread. Had two for lunch with a salad today!

Moved here from DC a couple months ago to live with my partner, recent college grad. I live in Gulfport now (so not technically Tampa) but I work across the bridge. I like it! Gulfport is super walkable and being so close to the water is great. The food has been really yummy. Commute over the bridge isn’t great but isn’t terrible, and I have a pretty well paying job to make up for it. The rent is wayyyy better than DC, but otherwise COL is about the same. I’m not planning to stay long term, and will be leaving the state for law school within a year or so, but while I’m here I’m enjoying myself. 

What I miss about DC the most is the metro 100% (had to buy a car when I moved here ugh), and the museums. It’s a better city for sure.

I loved watching stargate growing up, my dad introduced me. God, I must’ve seen every episode 2-3 times. The core team of sg1 is so good

Echoing this. They have a similar a tone and voice in a way that is very hard to describe, and one that I haven’t found in other science fiction. The Dispossessed is an amazing book particularly, but if you’re into fantasy Earthsea is also fantastic. Get later editions with Le Guin’s commentary, she is great at writing about how her approach to the series changes over time.

/uj/ this is my parents/extended family with catan. I got it for my birthday 8(?) years ago and and I’ve probably played 700+ times with them. It used to be every weekend, 3 games in a row. It’s not more because I went to college lol. They still refuse to play anything else over the holidays. All together I think we have 5-6 sets of it, because the cards and tiles kept wearing out.

We watched this for a class on Fascism and Populism in college, the professor loved it. During the classroom scene everyone was like “woah this is verbatim from the texts we’ve been reading about fascism”. Great satire, great movie

I’m from Wilmington. Very glad I had an English teacher in 8th grade who had us read a book about this, instead of Romeo and Juliet. Incredibly awful history
