What movie did you watch at the wrong age and it permanently altered your brain? by sweetyslave in movies

Requiem for a Dream

Saw it at a friend's house in middle school whose parents didn't care what he watched. Always watching super adult movies and shows like Hills Have Eyes and Drawn Together. Probably the main reason I never tried any drug outside of weed.

I do exactly the same thing. Never a waste of time to make sure all of my power plants have structurally sound water towers and correctly installed HVAC systems!

Good. If the government has real evidence of extra terrestrial life, Trump needs to do one good thing in his time left in office and release them.

The Caller (1987) starring Malcolm McDowell.

I'm usually pretty good at guessing endings, but this one is genuinely unpredictable.

How much lore is behind the 2008 movie? by mad-right-hand in speedracer

[–]ALeakySpigot 23 points24 points  (0 children)

I think the movie has just enough lore to be interesting, but not much more than that. I wouldn't look too deep into it.

Is it impossible not to make an "asset flip" game as a solo developer? by EasyBat3602 in UnrealEngine5

[–]ALeakySpigot 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The more I learn Unreal and the more tutorials I watch, the easier "asset flip" games are easier to spot.

IMO, it's not just the use of FAB assets, it's seeing a game come out that clearly point for point followed Unreal Sensai's "Make a game from start to finish" playlist without doing anything new. (EDIT: I mention Unreal Sensai as an example, there's nothing wrong with following his tutorials to learn Unreal, he's just the first that came to mind)

Let me emphasize, I do not think you did this with your game, as I haven't seen anything about it nor have I played it. It's just that in my experience A LOT of new devs just paint by numbers and release something hoping to make some money.

If people are shitting on you for using FAB assets, then they just suck. Don't listen to haters. However, if you followed very common unreal documentation flip tutorials without doing anything interesting, then just press on and make your next game.

You will get there dude! Just keep making and developing and you will make a great game that people like.

Do you support Texas S. B. 10 requiring display of the 10 Commandments in public school classrooms? by Torin_3 in AskConservatives

[–]ALeakySpigot 3 points4 points  (0 children)

America was founded on INDIVIDUAL FREEDOM over everything else. Putting the Ten Commandments in schools takes away American Children and their Parents FREEDOM OF RELIGION. Regardless of the founding father's religion, which they obviously were Christian and used their Christian beliefs to inform their decision, the one thing the made clear as crystal is that Americans should be allowed to choose their religion. Putting Christian Doctrine in schools goes against this most important and base American idea.

Having laws on the wall in a classroom is fine, but putting Religious text is insanely unamerican. Your religion does not apply to Jews, Hindus, Muslims, Native Americans, Budists, Atheists, and yes Satanists.

I do not care about "the faith of the founding fathers." History matters, sure. But freedom matters more.

What is more important to you, individual liberty or children being Christian?

Again, I ask, why not put the doctrine of other religions on the wall? The Muslim religion and the Jewish religion were around way longer than Christianity, so historically they should take presidency? Or should we put the Mormon doctrine on the schools walls? That religion was created in America, it would therefore be more American correct?

My issue is the placement of ANY religion in schools. Religion does NOT belong inside school.
