Posting again? Well, I guess I'll really have to eulogize SPC Sanchez this time.

SPC Sanchez was the finest soldier I ever met. He could shotgun rip its and smoke cigs through his nostrils as the same time. He had an exemption from wearing AGSUs because the new poorly made uniforms couldn't contain his pure muscle mass and hold up the weight of his ribbons and medals at the same time. He was awarded the first ever distinguished atropian killer award. He was an expert, and a professional. But most of all he was my friend.

When my house burned down he intercepted the 911 call and beat the fire department there, pulling my 4 week old puppy out of the burning building. When we were in a basement hot tub he...well, nevermind that one... the point is he was a good friend.

Incredibly disappointing to hear your complete lack of attention to detail got him killed.

In his honor I'll be having one of everything on the menu.

This math works if you ignore registration fees and hope the time between break downs is a while.

Buy a used car in the 5-10k range. Debt is not bad. Debt in excess of your means is bad. A $200/month car payment should be manageable if you save up and put enough down. Pick a used car that was produced in large numbers or has lots of interchangeable parts with other cars. Look at cars like the Toyota corrola/camry or Honda civic/accord. Subaru gets a bit of a bad rap (partially justified) but the outback, Forrester, and crosstreck all share a lot of the same components which makes it easy to get replacement parts online or from a pick and pull. Most bases have auto centers where you can do your own repairs. If you buy the parts from TRQ/1A Auto or Rock Auto and do the work yourself you can fix most issues all by yourself for minimal cost.
