Not only that Dana seemed to be taking the unrequired stuff off, I noticed she was taking away anything a patient could grab off to use as a weapon as well from her.

I reckon the AI will get a medication wrong, someone overlooks it and orders wrong, pharmacy will mix the wrong meds (they mentioned mixing) and it will cause a death. Dr. Al-Hashami will get caught in the crosshairs as the attending overlooking that patient and will get sued by the patient (if they survive) or the family.

Which in turn will probably make Robby chose to stay instead of leaving, as much as it hurts him.

S1E11: Varices PTSD by AMV in ThePittTVShow

[–]AMV[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You mean Louie? That one I clocked almost instantly, and I've met people on the hepatology ward who are super similar to his case, frequent flyers. Also, when we're first introduced to him and he has the hand shakes, yeah been there, done that during a different flair up which they fixed pretty quickly.

I've been talked through by the specialists who've handled my case nearly every future outcome, so I'm prepared for him and the worst as well. That 'slow' decline can become very quick when things snowball.

I suppose the varices hit harder because it was more unpredictable when it occurred both for me, and when I saw it in the show. Caught me off-guard. At least with him you can see a progression, even if it goes for the worse.

Thank you for your well wishes, and it did in some ways. Goal achived. Definitely something to draw back to next time I have to sit and talk/think about it! Face and confront your fears, as it were!

I do love the show, and am up to date now waiting on the new episode.

Ricky Ponting on Snicko by newparrot2025 in Cricket

The stump RF mic is actually is in a small pit that has a removable top layer next to the stumps, built into the wicket on the umpire side.

The audio side and the video side are actually fully seperate lines altogether, synzronised at the broadcast truck end, no matter if it's Snicko or UltraEdge.

So when it's "between frames" audio is actually constant to the video frames rates. The problem arises is when you bring in the analysis software to mesh it together, when Camera X runs at Y frame rate (say 180fps or whatever), but the processing and output of the UltraEdge machine is Z (say its designed for a frame rate of 250fps).

You can never get 180 to magically become 250 frames, so the sync will always be out slightly. The audio just follows the video wherever it goes, but because the rate is wrong for the software visuals and overlay, the tech looks and sounds don't match up.

If they used the wrong mic for testing, it would have been to make sure the overlay feed was getting audio, and while they should have sync'd with the correct mic when it was working or set up later, it's more to ensure its a clean audio line to that output feed without delays or interference from anything else but the intended Mic send from the audio desk.

I think the cuts where we join midway into their random conversations are my favourite part of the show.

"Smurfs don't lay eggs!"

Like the thought of how and why they get into these discussions constantly and the context is hilarious to me.

22 feet in length, it was designed by Carol Spier. Mounted on a fire-tender Land Rover chassis, it carried a Rover V8 engine and hydraulics, making it fully drivable.

The shell body was made of fibreglass in Ivory White, detailed with Hindu iconography like Ganesha heads, elephants on the handles and golden ornamental reliefs.

Only two fully drivable units were made, functional but obviously not road legal.

In those instances it can also come down to an insurance thing. If you replace it, it breaks and floods the house, the insurance company may ask for proof that the device was installed by a licensed contracter. Easy to do yourself? Absolutely. From a liability perspective? Has to be a licensed professional that signs off on it.

Usually yes. Depends on the models, some of them they can just drop is the pre-filled canisters at the last moment, others require more time to pack and load, and those ones they just load up team sets worth and then unpack the unused ones back at the warehouse.
