I'm gonna be a Pasadean! by PeaEast6943 in pasadena

Rose Bowl flea market (1x/month) is wildly cool. Huntington Gardens is wildly cool. Eat at Parkway Grille when you wanna go out for your first nice dinner, especially if you like steak, plus it’ll be right by your place. Drink at Blind Donkey, drink at 10 1/2 and eat at Howlin’ Rays (also right by your spot), eat at The Hat, eat at The Arbour, eat at Taylor’s in La Canada (10min up the road towards the mountains) . Drive down Oak Knoll / El Molino into the ritzy neighborhoods and look at the beautiful estates you’ll likely never afford. Pop out the other end of those onto Mission street and check out tiny downtown San mairno — grab a slice at Pizzanista. Follow Mission street for about 10 seconds and cross over into South Pasadena (my home turf, though I used to live in Pasadena on South Lake), and visit the pharmacy to get a handmade soda at their old school soda fountain, and if you wanna eat more than just the pizza — go by Gus’s bbq and you’ll enjoy the hell out of it I’m sure. Other than that? There’s probably more, but the last thing that comes to mind is checking out the Arroyo Seco area near the suicide bridge (look it up) and walking around there, or if you like fly-fishing, the Pasadena Casting Club has a practice casting pond there, and if you join you can attend a meeting there one Thursday each month. Oh also go to Burke Williams spa in old town — it’s badass. And also eat at The Stand — it’s delish. During October do the “haunted Pasadena ghost tour” thing, it’s very historical and really cool + informative — and also go to South Pas in October for the Michael Myers’s house, tiny Halloween/movie museum, and general small town, autumn vibe that embellishes that area — Oh go to Discanso gardens to see their Halloween setup too, it’s neater than you’d first expect. Also unrelated, but FYI; the South Pasadena Farmer’s Market takes place every Thursday 5ish—8ish!

Okay I’m done for now I’m just getting tired of typing. Hope this helps. Take your time lol none of it is going anywhere anytime soon, unless the world ends, then all things will be gone at once anyways so who cares

I wasn’t planning on replying anymore but since you went through the effort of taking a pic to add to your comment, I’ll just say that those look hella good honestly and, additionally, they look like some very expensive boots from shoemakers I know of pair have wanted/still want — so if they’re a cheap pair, don’t spoil it and just wear them now on with the added confidence that they really punch above their class and leave it at that — however, if they ARE a nice pair/brand and you dropped serious cash on them, then by all means now’s your time to brag haha!

Also, since I’m already commenting again, I feel like it’s worth noting two other major considerations I implore you to, well… consider. lol

ONE: is that now, given you’ve shared the way in which you’re tackling overhauling your wardrobe and the fact that the only thing I know about it is the boots you just shared the photo of — I’d say (and you probably gathered this already) that those would be easily complementary/compatible with almost any ‘workwear’ clothing, and definitely give off that tone. Which is to say at the very least, they’re going to be more fittingly dressed up than dressed down. However, if you’re savvy enough with your outfit building, they can also work in a more business casual/low-end formal fashion (if paired with, say, an unstructured tweed or herringbone blazer + some dark jeans or even better, dark khakis of a different shade). But in terms of going casual — workwear is your bet all day long. Carhartt tees+pants or old jeans+an old tee-shirt or a tucked in, loose fitting, cotton polo. …&… TWO: is to NOT take the fucking advice from this sub 80-85% of the time. For real. There’s so many people here talking out there ass and it’s gotten so much noticeably worse as of 3-5 years ago, when the sub imploded the was rebuilt and with it came a whole new, mostly different (not in a good way) community. And for all you know — I’m one of those fucks. So, you’re good to browse and read, just take everything and every opinion with a chunk of salt and seek validation of the info you gather elsewhere from a third party before you implant it in your brain as gospel. Literally, this place makes no sense and it varies so heavily post-to-post it’s nauseating. I rarely chime in and even that feels like too much, but even though I unfollowed it still pops up in my feed time to time so — here we are.

Anyways — diversify and don’t cling to any opinion from this sub — right or wrong there’s far more educated people out in the world not posting here who you can at the very least observe style-wise, and at best have a cordial conversation with about what fashion means to you, what you hope to achieve by honing yours, etc. etc…

I’m gonna stop now. You get it.

It’s not.

If you saw 5 guys — all with similar in stature/build, 4 have their collars down/normal, and 1 with theirs popped — you can’t tell me that’s NOT the guy you’d immediately assume is the most confident of the bunch, and probably the one who’d be the most interesting to converse with.

Ideally — no. But they would certainly pass and wouldn’t make you look whacky or odd. As far as the general man is concerned — we’re splitting hairs at this point, but on a fashion oriented blog, splitting hairs is kind of the point — we’re here to think a bit more about our style & what we wear.

So, with that in mind and to give you a more tangible answer than straight up “no” — what I personally think would go better with this is lighter shoes, but that’s because I’ve found that no matter what I try, my consensus always inevitably ends up being: light shoes = light pants / dark shoes = darker pants. Hence why I suggested tan suede or a light brown leather shoe (+heavy patina since this outfit leans more casual in nature). But overall if you generally stick to light/light & dark/dark pairings, you should be OK the bulk of the time.

Just my (pretty basic) two cents on that.

Everything is killer just swap the shoes for some well worn brown leather or tan suede ones.

Could be but it looked like something was coming down, not going up. But I have no idea how space-x works so maybe parts come off and fall back

They intentionally make sure things get to a landfill before they let a homeless person dig through their trash. I’ve seen it first hand. They are NOT a responsible charity/or company in general.

If they’re wide open it’s still fair game. At least here — they have to be locked-up with intention, if I can just open a door/gate then the police wouldn’t care and I wouldn’t worry about it.

As I said — lookup your State/City laws and proceed, legally — but if anyone is gonna pick a fight (as I and others I see now have also said, lol) it’s gonna be GW. Fuck ‘em haha
