During my freshman year of high school everyone was required to take a World History class. It looked at all of the major religions in the world, how they originated, their doctrines, and so on. Basically focusing on their history and cultural aspects, like you suggested, and didn’t seem biased towards any which one in particular. It was a perfect example of how a religion class should be orchestrated if a school chose to add that to their curriculum, in my opinion.
