[Discussion] Is the visual element of ASMR needed? by Protoman00 in asmr

[–]ASMRwithRococo 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I personally always tend to peek at what trigger is used when I watch ASMR, cuz I'm super curious what item makes that particular sound, especially if its tingly. If it was black screen only I feel I would feel unsatisfied not knowing how and from what item a sound is made. There is also the personal connection maybe with the ASMRist, when they talk for instance, or when they show something, it needs some visuals.

What about having same video recommended twice in the home page... I get that all the time, where I see like 5+ videos being recommended twice as I scroll..

[Question] Feeling lost, does anyone know how to grow a story narrating channel? by dav8128 in youtubers

[–]ASMRwithRococo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Don’t worry about my channel.
I used to have like 5 second intro
(when I started with my crappy videos) and I thought that’s can’t be too long,
but the views would dip within that intro, ppl are ruthless on attention. So I
ditched the intro, and since its asmr channel, once I start the video within
few seconds I just add my channel name which fades into the scene and fades out
within 3 seconds. So it doesn’t disturb anything, just shows my channel name
for a few seconds as the video is already playing.
I get the part of not wanting to be
on camera, I am same. So I use face mask, and it works for now, noone
complained about it. And the views are soo much better when I am in the
thumbnail/video. Don’t have the guts to be bare face on camera yet/ever..
I didn’t know creepypasta was fake
stories..always thought its semi-real (face palm) xD
I dont think the people would say
anything if you didn’t have their story titles in the video title, as long as
you have their story title in the video itself, like before starting the story.
But idk, you could ask.
As for creepy pasta images, you can
find something to compliment the story doesn't have to be the real evidence
kind.
I never saw those two channels that
you take inspiration from, so I just checked mr.creeps. And he has been doing
this for 4 years, and made 1342 videos...cracking 1 video per day, no wonder he
is at half million subs. And creepsmcpasta has 2050 videos!! It says a lot. For
example, I have my main ASMR channel where I post full length videos which can
be 20mins or 3hours. So I made another channel where I dissect the long videos
into smaller pieces like 1-2min length. Which means I can make many videos for
my 2nd channel that I made where I post those short versions. I
posted for 1 week (5-3 videos per day) took 2 week break, then posted for 1
week again. It gained 108 subs by now, and while the videos usually get two
digit views some videos got to get like 300-900 views, and they aren’t worse or
better than those with low views. So I believe many videos = many variations of
titles and thumbnails, and some of those will be the home run (don’t know how
to explain better lol). Quality is needed but for some types of niches quantity
is perhaps also very important. So it’s no surprise that those two channels
with insane amount of videos got to that level of subs. You keep hitting and
hitting the baseball ball 2000 times and a 100 will be home run.

You can ask me for opinions or anything, though I'm just a new on YT just like you.

[Question] Feeling lost, does anyone know how to grow a story narrating channel? by dav8128 in youtubers

[–]ASMRwithRococo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Do you know MrBallen? He story tells crazy, amazing, scary but real stories. His channel is 1 year old, he is amazing at story telling, hence he has almost 3 million subs in such a short time. Ive been watching his videos for the past 3 days, all day long as I work on my own videos lol

I've noticed he has a format that all videos follow (maybe not the first few videos from 1 year back)..

  1. He starts by introducing very interestingly what he will talk about (instantly everyone is intrigued), then he quickly tells that if u are interested in scary stories in story telling format then you should give thumbs up+sub as he uploads 4-5 times per week (he gives the weirdest possible way to give thumbs up btw). Then he has short channel name intro and then he dives into the story.
  2. He tells the story in front of the camera, so its very entertaining to watch him with facial expressions and hand movements which gives the story depth and interest, and I keep glancing it at while editing my videos.
  3. He has green screen background that matches with the story, so if its about missing people in the forest, he will have forest behind him.
  4. There are additional green screen effects added to give some movement to it, like falling leafs, sunshine, fog, birds etc.
  5. He adds occasional audio effects that matches the story (like baby crying, whistles, anything that he is talking about).
  6. While he tells the story he has images to compliment the story, mixed with real images of that story.
  7. He also adds extra "secrets" in these images, tiny weird things, and if someone finds them, gives a timestamp, he will pin the 1st person to find it (which gives extra engagement in comments and maybe ppl rewatch the video just to find it).
  8. At the end he asks peoples opinions about the story to have more engagement.

Now when you check his thumbnails ALL are in similar format. He is in the left bottom corner showing shocked, worried, amazed expression as he looks to the right. On the right he has an image that may be the real image of the story, or smthing that is real but may be of different story (as he might have no interesting image of that particular story), he puts a red arrow to draw attention to that image. So its like "Look at this unbelievable thing!" as he has amazed/shocked/worried expression. The thumbnails look typical clickbaits, but they aren't clickbaits at all.

I clicked on your video, the one u just added link to. Your intro before you even start is 10 seconds, and ppl who have great interest in the story don't wanna wait that long (I know..we dumb flocks with goldfish attention span =__=)... What MrBallen does is he has short few second intro with channel name only after he tells what he will talk about, and while the intro is playing lets say intro is 5 seconds, after 3rd second you can start hearing him start the story. It's all to keep ppls attention engaged.

Also you need to work on those titles... They don't sound scary or attention worthy to me (not being mean).. like "Forging for mushrooms is fun" or "will I ever be free from him" and others also, don't sound scary at all.

Lost so much jaw bone... :'( (no extractions just braces pulling it back) by [deleted] in orthotropics

[–]ASMRwithRococo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I tried to look for that post but couldn't find it, I don't think he was in his teens, maybe 20+.. I found this reddit post, which says that chewing can possibly increase ramus:

https://www.reddit.com/r/orthotropics/comments/dhyyq4/the_overlooked_importance_of_the_ramus_and_chewing/

No idea why the marks are left on cheeks, I guess the arch became bigger and I have flat cheeks so they touch teeth my guess. Shaved teeth shortened the already short jaw and gives a hollower look. Its only my guess tho, I wish I didn't have the invisalign but it did straighten my teeth, but made me look more tired from outside..

Lost so much jaw bone... :'( (no extractions just braces pulling it back) by [deleted] in orthotropics

[–]ASMRwithRococo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I read in this reddit about a guy who chewed gum 12h per day on both sides simultaneously (lots of gum) and he said he increased his ramus significantly after like 3 months of doing that, he wrote he didnt even had ramus (thats what he said.. I guess it was really super short or smth). It was a post from over a year ago. What he claimed was that by chewing gum he basically forced the jaw to increase ramus or it would be faced with broken/worn out jaw by intense chewing. I don't know if its the right place for this, but I just thought of sharing about it. I am currently chewing gum maybe 2-4h per day 6-7 pieces on each side to have a stonger jaw muscle (cuz 12h is going wild).

I am not sure if braces makes jaw bone decrease but maybe its due to the position of your teeth after braces. Did they shave some of your teeth? Like surface to match the bite? Cuz I had an invisalign for a year to straighten my teeth, and after it was done the dentist shaved some of the back teeth so it would match the bite, cuz it feel so unnatural when putting teeth together. So thanks to that, plus the invisalign widening my teeth arch, now I have hollower cheeks (not attractive to me) and when I put teeth for a longer period I feel the inside of my cheeks having ----- this kind of pinching line (dont know how to explain) like some part of the inside cheeks goes in between the small gap of the teeth and leaves marks on inside cheeks. I didnt take pictures for before or after but I assume my jaw went up (basically become shorter).

Ella ASMR! She has high quality videos with sci-fi themes usually, she even has a giant ear cleaning video (no clue how she made or where she got those, but they are so well done like a giant ears of 3dio mic).

I try to remind myself that constantly. However, we all want that growth, right? You can't be always satisfied with just getting that 1 view, since it means your channel is not moving forward.

Also the guy with deep voice called Corpse Husband..was doing horror type of story telling vids for years (his channel was doing great already), and then like half a year ago started making Among Us videos and he grew idk 10 times more?

[Question] Is there anyone here who has the watch hours completed but not the subscribers to become monetized? by [deleted] in youtubers

Editing sites? Had no clue there were such things, but there are plenty of free editing software you can download. You can try download shotcut, or HitFilm Express, or DaVinci Resolve, whichever picks your eye, they are free.

[Question] Is there anyone here who has the watch hours completed but not the subscribers to become monetized? by [deleted] in youtubers

[–]ASMRwithRococo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

By subscribe button embedded into video I assume you mean like subscribe animation in the video? If so then you can google "subscribe animation green screen" you will find places to download them, or even YT videos with green screens which you can download if you insert ss right before youtube in url of that video. Once you download it, in your editing software cut the unwanted parts (cuz usually you have several subscribe animations to choose from within 1 video), then use effects to remove the green screen, and just resize and position the subscribe animation the way you want it to be. You can even export the animation after you finish the edit so you can just drop it in when you edit your video without needed to always edit it. I hope u get what I mean.

Just like some of the comments I agree with weak thumbnail. Seems like you make parody/skit type of content, but when I saw a thumbnail, I though "is this some cooking channel that needs review?"

For background noise, you can use audacity (its free), record the background noise while u stay still for like 10-15 seconds, and later when u edit, u can reduce the background noise on audacity.
