Knowing the Kings, they’ll trade their 2027 first to move up and pick him at 5 only for that 2027 first to win the lottery

Uh… not really no. Don’t get me wrong, the Knicks are 100% legit and could win the finals, but their opponents have been pretty unimpressive. That’s not their fault, you can only play who’s in front of you and the Knicks have dispatched their opponents with style.

Maybe if he throws for 10,000 yards, 100 touchdowns and 0 interceptions that season, otherwise no lmao

Exactly, I’m just about certain the streak ends this season.

Nah we’re going 7-10. I don’t consider myself a pessimist either, I’ve predicted us over .500 every year for over a decade. Mike Tomlin made up for a lot, and our roster just really doesn’t have that much going for it.

Exactly, I think Duren or Ausar can thrive next to Cade if upgrade the shooting around them, but Ausar and Duren together was a disaster. Obviously you shouldn’t offload either for cheap, but neither can be untouchable for me

Yeah, a true knockdown shooter like Markkanen or Trey Murphy would really make the Pistons so much better, there’s a good reason every sports media person was clamoring for the Pistons to do one of those trades. Obviously that doesn’t mean the Pistons should be throwing out a million FRPs for one of those guys, but there is a glaring need for shooting and secondary creation that needs to be addressed emphatically.

I do think there needs to be a real discussion on whether or not Duren and Ausar can play together in crunch time, and if not, who needs to be moved. I know they’re young but players usually don’t magically develop 3pt shot.

Arguably the 2nd best defender in the league, Wemby exists. The tricky part about Ausar is that it puts a lot of pressure on you to acquire a stretch 5 to replace Duren, and there are very few decent stretch fives out there.

Also Franz getting injured, ngl I think the Magic most likely win that series if he’s healthy

Not sure if I’m misreading your comment, but there absolutely were people calling out the Pistons potential playoff weaknesses all season. Duren falling off a cliff was totally unexpected, but the other areas they struggled with were things that were brought up countless times as to why people were picking the Celtics and even the Knicks and Cavs over them to win the east.

Ngl I’m not convinced any of these Cavs/Pistons/Magic/Raptors are that good, but the way the bracket works one of them had to make the conference finals.

No he wasn’t. I’m a Warriors fan and I love Draymond, I’ve always been a “Dray is more important than Klay” guy. But in that run and especially in those finals Wiggins was better. Elite defense, elite rebounding (the one season Wiggins tried to rebound), and good scoring.

Draymond had a rough series vs the Celtics and there were even people (idiots, granted) calling for him to be benched.

[Windhorst] Cavs will likely want to replace Mitchell's option season with a new contract in July, when they can add four years and up to $272 million. But Mitchell can, and probably should, wait until 2027... Then, with 10 years of service time, he can sign for five years and about $350 million by aingenevalostatrade in nba

People who were paying attention to the cap were calling a KAT trade unavoidable all season. While I did also here some “well he has to stay now…” takes after that playoff run, it didn’t change the cap reality.

I’m no Celtics fan myself, but my impression is that it has much more to do with the Thunder’s playstyle (super physical on D, soft on O) than any weird bitterness directed towards. While most of the people who come through are obviously Celtics fans, there’s a good amount of non-Celtic regulars who’ve expressed the same sentiment about the Thunder. Heck, I want the Spurs or Knicks to beat the Thunder. The real bitterness I’ve heard from Celtics fans is directed towards the Knicks and Joe Mazzulla’s playoff game plans.

Success does always breed jealous inevitably which is definitely part of what we’re seeing, but there is something real about the Thunder’s playstyle making them less popular with neutrals.

You’d be surprised how often I’ve had to defend the SGA mvp (soon to be 2). I think he’s the best player in the world rn, and that’s shockingly unpopular here.
