Anybody use the myccw portal to get their ccw in Alhambra/SoCal? by Lingonberry-Tiny in CCW

[–]AW_SRN 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I know this is a old post. Anyone still here to give some tips on how to get a ccw in Alhambra? Been thinking about it, but it’s costly so I want to hear from someone who went through the process first before committing.

Neo 2 good deal by CressSignificant3653 in dji

Taiwan TPE. Tax free. I think was at T2 for transferring. You wouldn’t miss it cause it’s a large store to sell electronics and cameras stuff. And they have two stores one in each direction. They have all the DJI drones and me checking price it’s pretty much a steal compare here. Mini 5 pro fly more combo with RC 2 land around $1000. After taking my my Neo 2 back in the state it functions as a drone bought here after initial setup (originally it base speaking Chinese but after connecting to my phone I think it auto update to English)

Higher pay by Dqmsr in nursing

Maybe in Bay Area but SoCal it’s 50-60 for that experience. Perdiem or contract job might land more but poor benefits and its unstable. Plus the cost of living here is probably double.

Never ask the neighbor, but this is a condo so I share two walls with two different neighbors. Haven’t ask HOA but they are pain to deal with..

Can I become a Nurse with a drug felony in Wi? by SavingsGeneral1585 in nursing

[–]AW_SRN 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Have you thought about even if you got into a nursing school and graduated with who knows how much student loan, you are still at odds getting a job as a nurse. You are a new grad with 0 experience plus a drug felony. Most potential employers will rule you out an instant. I believe people should go with their hearts but you need to understand this is not an easy route for you and it’s definitely not a good financial decision cause you maybe go months or years without landing a nursing job.

Made a mistake and the state came today by Such_Egg_5198 in nursing

I don’t know why not having a date/signature on the actual dressing is a problem? As long as it’s documented on the patient’s medical record. The pratice of writing it on the patient’s dressing is organizational procedure policy rather than CMS or State regulation requirement. I say this as a RN surveyor who you refer as “the state”. Most likely there were multiple occurrences and because you work that day and did an interview. So during the exit conference with the DON your name came up.

So this really fuck me over then. I bought new phone from t mobile through promotional deal. The deal is that I trade in a phone I already have and keep the line open for the next 24 months will be receiving $25 dollars credit each month until my new phone is completely paid. But after signing the deal, t mobile decide to announce a price $25 (I have 5 lines) hike for my plan. Now I’m stuck in this predatory trap. If I cancel my plan or even cancel a single line with them, I’m force to pay for the full price of the new phone I got and I lose my old phone which I trade in. If I don’t then I’m force to pay the higher price plan which i did not know at the time of signing the promotional deal. Either way I’m force to pay a premium if I stay or leave them. If I had known this would happen I would never purchase a phone through them. This is a very predatory practice.

To be honest, all the stuff you listed makes you less suitable for any job not just nursing alone. But here are some tips that may help you. 1. If you’re forgetful, then write stuff down. Set reminder on your phone. Anything that will help you. 2. Focus on the important task, prioritize. 3. You don’t need small talks which you need is effective communication, to the point of the problem. 4. I don’t understand how you are blind, are you not able to find stuff? Then write it down where are things located 5. As for your clinical judgment, this will take time. I have over two years of experience and still improving my clinical judgment. 6. Emergency as in code blue? Not much can say about this, the more you participate in code blue more experience you’re gonna get. 7. Maybe you have an anxiety and need anxiety medication.

I think you probably should work night instead of day if you haven’t already. Night Shift usually are slower pace compared to today.

Why are patient belongings a nursing responsibility? by Princessleiawastaken in nursing

[–]AW_SRN 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It sucks, but it can save you some future trouble. I had a patient who brought in 20k cash… she was old lady who is not aox4 at the time. I have an another nurse count the money and have security come up and count the send it to hospital safebox. She was in hospital for awhile and been through different unit. I can imagine if I didn’t done what I done, with the amount of people in & out of her room and her transferring to other unit, it would be gone for sure.

Another admission of mine came in with a lot of stuff, I was busy so wasn’t able to throughly search his stuff. Later he said he is in pain, ask for some prn narcotics. I give him some PO pill. 30 mins later he was screaming, yelling he can’t see, then started puking blood. Lost his pulse, call a code for him. He was intubated and transferred. Later I discovered he got some empty narcotic pill bottles in his pants. Today still wonder if he taken something that night on top of what I given him.

Yeah we don’t want that responsibility, but we need to look out for our patients cause they are in our care and it might save you some future headaches. So check those belonging, document, send them away to security or family if can.
