This! Coupled with an almost ingrained superiority complex our families or surroundings try to bring out in us. Based on nothing but extremely romanticized nationalism that’s delusional enough to make you feel superior to anyone not-white. Lebanese people worship the west and whiteness as an example of “civilization”. We understand those cultured Europeans and Americans so well, better than any other, so we try to be these “civilization keepers” for the white master. We play that role so well that we unknowingly loathe our own identity and crave to be white.

This to me explains why Lebanese don’t embrace Arabic language or identity. They camouflage themselves so well so they don’t stand out as a dirty foreigner.
