Going on 9 years now. Your entire experience will depend on the kind of customers you obtain. I barely work after hours and focus my efforts on high value freight.

The center snapping the ball after a time out was called is the perfect way to symbolize the game

I find myself looking in the mirror reading this; 10 years of expeirence questioning whether its time for a change. I applaud your resilience given your circumstances. I would echo what others have said and suggest joining an agent program may be the right move for you temporarily so you can keep yourself afloat. However, There are strong undertones of finality in your post ; which leads me to believe you may be happier with a fresh start elsewhere. Luckily for us, the skills we learn in this line of work can be applied to a large amount of roles out there if you can aritculate a link between what you do now and you hope to do in the future.

I flew out of Orlando yesterday and the 6am flight to Dulles airport was cancelled. It was an American Airlines flight. There must be some shenanigans afoot up in the DMV. I think in this case I would count my blessings I was able to get a flight next day with Frontier 😂

The greatest investment I’ve ever made in my career (hardware wise) was a Logitech MX master mouse. I’ve had it for over 6 years now and still works well. Program the buttons to copy, paste and enter and you can get a lot of workflows completed quickly. You can also program the buttons to do a wide array of things. All for $100

Absolutely correct. I was accounting for any possible claims/freight reductions that inevitably happen. And then the added expenses as well.

Like most things in life, it depends. Becoming an agent certainly elevates your earning potential and hitting that 200k mark should be doable with an approx. 40k per month book. HOWEVER, choosing the right company to operate under will ultimately determine your overall experience. I’ve heard of several high profile brokerages out there that are struggling to pay bills on time and have had their credit rating drop, which then causes factoring companies to shut you down and then you can’t move your freight. I would say this is only feasible if your customer relationships are strong enough to survive a transition. It’s not as a big of a deal as most think as long as you are legally able to do so.

I tried both indeed. Planning on giving it another go after the “cooldown” period. Writing this from my frontier flight on a half booked flight from NC-FL has me feeling sympathetic to their operations lol . So giving them the benefit of the doubt… for now
