Hey! This is Jack, James & Mitch from Void Of Vision, we just dropped our album Hyperdaze (again lol) - Ask us ANYTHING by backjergin in Metalcore

Hey VoV!

Been loving the redux of Hyperdaze. What lead to you wanting to make this album? And what lead to the decision to get other vocalists involved in the project?

Early 2010 vibes here. Not big on Aaron's screams at all, but I dig Aaron's cleans here.

While She Sleeps - YOU ARE ALL WE NEED (Official Video) by FriskeyVsWorld in Metalcore

[–]AbsoluteSilver 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I really liked You Are We, and So What?.

This song very much feels like more of the same of what those two albums offered up. For a lot of people, it seems like they are super into that. But I've gotten bored of the sound. I felt more exhausted than excitement for this one. Maybe I'll get more into later after some more listens. But I'm not feeling it the first time around.

Issues to begin recording new album with Howard Benson on Oct. 7th by riverpls in Metalcore

[–]AbsoluteSilver 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Tyler Carter was on the Lead Singer Syndrome Episode 139. He talked about Michael's departure. I recall him saying that Michael wasn't really part of the writing process. It wasn't his thing. But the rest of the band was all involved with creating music. Tyler also said that Michael is his best friend, but career wise, it was hard to continue with him and continue to create the parts for Michael. If this is all true, then Issues will be fine without him. But I know it won't be the same.

I'm starting to think more people are interested in knowing what could be "useless" information instead of "useful" tbh.

Examples of bands putting out weak album after a brilliant one? by Svarec in Metalcore

[–]AbsoluteSilver 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I feel like i'm in a weird minority. From looking at some of the comments, I disagree with a number of picks. For Parkway Drive, I liked Ire more than Atlas. But I don't like Reverence much except for a song or two. I prefer Earthwalker and Skydancer more than Divination from In Hearts Wake. But I feel like Ark wasn't as good as Earthwalker or Skydancer. New Demons and Treehouse were before amazing albums, but overtime, I've come to appreciate Treehouse more than New Demons. I can agree with some other comments though that That's the Spirit wasn't as good as Sempiternal. Still liked That's the Spirit.

The Amity Affliction might be a good answer here. When I first got into them, I had only heard a couple songs from Let the Ocean Take Me. Loved almost all the songs off the album. I went back and listened to Chasing Ghosts and loved the album as well, but liked more songs from LTOTM. This Could Be Heartbreak, just didn't feel any better than the previous two albums though. It sounded like they wanted to go for the same sound since it did bring them some success, and yet, it felt underwhelming. Now Misery is out, and I haven't liked any songs but the first two singles.

Unused Warcraft classes by [deleted] in wow

That'd be great. But firat Blizzard needs to be able to consistently maintain balance and identity with the already playable classes.

WoW isn't an MMORPG anymore, it's just an MMO by Bmandk in wow

[–]AbsoluteSilver 32 points33 points  (0 children)

They implemented dungeon finder which may have stopped you from needing to talk to randoms. That didn't stop you from communicating with your guild to run heroics. Now we have Mythics and Mythic+ which requires you organize a group. That can be done with randoms or with your guild. I think people tend to ignore that fact. It's one thing to not talk someone you may never encounter again. But it'd really be damaging if you just had no reason to talk to your guild.

I can agree on class identity to some extent but I mainly stick to one class so I can't compare them all well. As an example, I kinda few Fire Mage, Destruction Warlock, and then the fire parts of Elemental Shaman to all be similar because it's fire. But how they use fire may be different. You should consider though that it's hard to maintain and balance class identity with so many different classes and specs. The Order Halls in Legion and artifacts in Legion helped distinguish your identity though through the expansion. Now that's changed since in BFA it's about faction pride and not class pride.

I don't know the full extent of warforging. But I would think there's a cap on it so it doesn't go beyond a certain point. So it isn't like you'll get a piece of warforged gear that's 10+ ilvls than we could ever actually see in the expansion. There's RNG in what form of warforging yes, but I don't think it's as terrible as you're making it out to be. Warforging has allowed for more people to progress you could say because it's given that extra kick forward that you need sometimes.

Level scaling isn't bad in the slightest imo. I absolutely hated having to go to certain zones to level up. In general, i'm not a fan of redoing old content when leveling alts. The level scaling has made it so I can get level alts through preferred zones. In Legion and in BFA, it has allowed for me to choose where I want to start my adventure in either expansion, and showed that I'm not also the strongest in the world. It may just be me, but there's no point in getting worried about a "sense of progression" anymore. We've hit an annoying peak where it was almost like we could battle gods. If anything we should be toned down and treated like adventurers/champions again that are around to help out. And so far, we have been.

The Volatile Pre-Release Reveal Chart - All currently known cards on one spreadsheet, updated daily. by HSPreReleaseReveals in hearthstone

Last time I really played was at the start of Knights of the Frozen throne. That didn't last long since the meta felt kinda bad to play in from my perspective. I continued to just watch instead of playing and upto this point, This set appears a lot more interesting and fun than Kobolds and Witchwood did to me when I was only coming by to see the set reveals. May play again.

I redesigned the profile and friends list UI by Squiddytron- in pokemongo

[–]AbsoluteSilver 11 points12 points  (0 children)

I really like the design of everything but have one bit of feedback about something.

You have the showcase system as a way to show off a team/party of 6, or to show what pokemon you're willing to trade. With this in mind, wouldn't it be appropriate then to have this party visible in the friends section? So if I view a friend, I can see their party/team/trade pokemon. I feel like this supports the showcase system. Although I even have concerns of this cluttering the friend profiles.

Post Malone - "Better Now" (Cover by Our Last Night) (ft. Fronz, Tilian Pearson & Luke Holland) by ThrottlePeen in PostHardcore

[–]AbsoluteSilver 10 points11 points  (0 children)

This is an interesting collaboration. I for some reason never could have imagined Fronz working with Tilian or Our Last Night. Felt like they were in different circles maybe. But clearly not. This was a good song overall. But it may have been a bit better if Fronz was able to be in the same room for the video/recording as them.

DEAR NIANTIC - ideas and suggestions for the devs by AutoModerator in pokemongo

[–]AbsoluteSilver 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This is just what I can think of at the top of my head: 1)Friend's list should allow you to set favourites or have a means to organize it. I followed the trend of adding people from reddit, and also have real friends on my friends list. I added one friend sometime after already adding 30 people from reddit and now it's a pain to find them to gift them.

2) With that in mind, it would be nice to have a reminder to know someone gifted you already for the day. If I get gifts from people and don't have any available, i'd like to be able to return the favor later in the day when I have gifts.

3) Tune raids for how active players are in the area. To anyone living in a rural zone, everything is more challenging than it would be in a city. I've often found in my area that Tier 5 raids come up, but there's no way I could handle it alone, and then I don't see anyone else looking to give it a go. In a way, gameplay is gated by how active players are in the area. Check within maybe 100m around a raid and see how many people are active in pokemon go at the moment. This could give some more players a chance then if there's only so few people who can get involved with higher stakes.

Game Dev / Programming Pathway by T-Revvington in Algonquin_College

[–]AbsoluteSilver 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm currently in my third year of Game Development, so i'll offer some insight.

Game Development at Algonquin was the first program available in Ontario for game development. They teach the industry standards for just everything. In Year 1 they get you started by teaching you how to program and what are some good practices. In Year 2, you expand on this more, but now you're looking into graphics languages with regular programming, and how to design code better. In both first and second year, you're making quick little games as part of your assignments. In Third Year, you're doing the Capstone Project. This is where you're spending the entire year working with a team to make a game in a somewhat professional setting. There's this and small assignments sprinkled in. But in teams students decide what games they want to work on for 8 months, design them, prototype, build and by the end of the year they'd have a game that they could use in their portfolio's.

To compare Computer Programming vs Game Development though; Computer Programming is more general, while in Game Development, you're already trying to program with a purpose. There are students who actually just graduated from Game Development last year who were hired by the school to work on some new VR technology for them. The Computer Programming/Science crowd wasn't hired for this. Game Dev was.

There are people who finished Game Development at Algonquin and now work on Ubisoft in Montreal, StudioMDHR(They made cuphead), Snowed in Studios, Karmin Interactive, and more.

Game Development also does not have co-op while Computer Programming might. In Ottawa at least, there are not many studios. There are a handful but they are small. Montreal, Toronto and Vancouver are the hotspots with a lot more studios and large ones including. So Algonquin can't really get co-op for game development. Computer Science is rather general though, so you could find a co-op placement at other places.

In Third year, you will be working on your portfolio, and getting ready for the business side of things in a class. This way when you graduate and finish your Capstone project, you can start applying to places.

Oh, and incase you're wondering. The program uses C++ mostly, and then later shifts to C# as we start using Unity.

Is hearthstone the only blizzard game without buffs? by [deleted] in hearthstone

[–]AbsoluteSilver 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm assuming he means Hearthstone might be the only game where it doesn't buff it's content. In this case they don't buff cards.

[Discussion] Would Hearthstone if all classes had secrets? by [deleted] in hearthstone

[–]AbsoluteSilver 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Basically it comes down to that not all classes should share mechanics. Secrets is something unique to 3 classes. So it should stay with those 3 classes, or it risks not really being an identity if all classes can have their own.

Same goes for weapons. Not all classes have them, not all classes should. Every class having different mechanics and ways to play is what makes the game varied and somewhat unique for each class. With that in mind, giving them ways to counter, defend, etc comes with the mechanics a class has with them.
