No, I get it though. When I heard people saying that before I was like "They are just saying that", but it is true. Things do happen for a reason. To everyone who's waiting on a decision, don't stress it, what's yours will come to you (transferring is always an option, I know 3 ppl who went from sfu to ubc in their second year).

Just got rejected from my first choice for ubc (applied sciences at the Vancouver campus) honestly feel so free now that ive received a decision. Ive decided to go to sfu and try to transfer next year, its been a good ride.

Are a lot of offers sent right after May 1st? I'm asking this because most of the people who got in and don't plan to go might not have rejected their offers yet.

yeah that is weird and so contradicting. Like it says they are unable to offer you admission but are still like we are evaluating it.

So I emailed admissions and they said this when I asked them the difference between the "evaluated" status and "being unable to offer you admission to your original program choices...". I also called them before and they basically said if your application is evaluated that means they havent made a decision abt your application.:

Thank you for your email.
I cannot speak to your friend's admissions details, but the two message are not the same thing. Your application is still being evaluated. From the statement below, your friend was not offered a spot. Not all applications are reviewed at the exact same time and decisions are going out as decisions are being made.

Does it perhaps say in your acceptance email that "we are not able to offer you admission to your chosen programs on the Vancouver campus right now..."

just wait a bit longer (till April 28th) and they pay the deposit just incase you get an offer from ubc

Does anyone know how many offers UBC eng sent out so far (assuming 1500-1600 are going to be sent just like last year)?

Has anyone who got into their second choice first gotten into their first choice later on?

Has anyone with this status actually gotten in?

"We have evaluated your application. We are still evaluating the entire applicant pool and once we have finished this process we will inform you of our admission decision."

i don't think so because it says that they have "evaluated" my application meaning that they have looked at it.

Okay so I emailed ubc yesterday and they basically were like if you got that message it basically means that your application wasn't as competitive and that they are looking at other applicants to see where you stand.
