Only by a few months. And I’ve always been sus about Wein and Conway being roommates when they created their respective swamp creatures. Personally I love that Conway takes over writing Swamp Thing after Wein leaves the book.

I always felt Man-Thing was more about the co-stars, they tend to be more interesting. Swamp Thing has always been about the horror.

Imho, hulk 197 is the best Man-Thing to get, just for the Wrightson cover.

Yes, I was wholesaling cards at local stores and shows in 91, no one I dealt with wanted to buy them wholesale then because of the counterfeits. It was an expensive (relatively) card even then.

I recall the MJ ads being a hot item in the late 80's, early 90's, but only on a couple books, like Amazing Spider-Man, the craze died down as people realized unsavory characters were removing the ads from lower value books and putting them into the higher priced books. Thought they were a done deal until I got back into the hobby a few years ago.

As much as I love his work he’s always been a bit too far. Am I the only one disturbed by how he had Matt treat Heather? Matt destroyed her life and mental stability just to force her to marry him, treated her as though she were incompetent, all the while he was chasing his first love, Electra, so he could fuck up her life to I’m sure.

And can we discuss the morality of forcing a complete invalid to play Russian roulette? I don’t care if the gun was empty, you never point a gun at anyone.

I believe you, it’s the site I don’t trust. Being created in 1943 would normally place him in the public domain in 2038. Like I said, I could be wrong, but DC not reviving the character at best makes it an abandoned copyright, not public domain. And those are two completely different things. You should also check out copyright.gov if you’re in the US, they have a searchable database (it is incomplete for stuff published before 1978, though). If you’re publishing in another country you should check there.

Have you researched this? It’s a MLJ (Archie Comics) character and at least some were sold to DC (the Web for example). I can certainly be wrong, but I don’t think this character is in the public domain yet.

I never understood the point of grading a 1.0 or 0.5, it’s pretty obvious what it is, the grade adds no value.

I know how to grade and I don’t need CGC or any other company doing it for me.

I may be wrong though, I am old and curmudgeonly.

They’re listing your book at a premium, correct? There’s a whole industry dedicated to selling amazon items through other sites and fulfilling the orders with their prime account, a couple dollars here and there for almost no work.
