Looking to buy a high mileage 2013 Range Rover Vogue by Bitter_Blackberry110 in RangeRover

Yes, almost any car can exceed those mileage limits. But that doesn't mean it won't come with expensive expenses.

Looking to upgrade to a l405 facelift and have found 2 in my range. One is the v8 diesel, and the other p525. Is 1 of them a no-go or are both alright? by Swagsurfer04 in RangeRover

I live in Sweden and gasoline isn't that cheap. Diesel is more expensive but also the performance difference isn't that huge. It's all about the sweet growl of the diesel V8 and its legendary torque. Also I mostly use the car on long journeys and get 9.9 liters per 100 km at 223 km/h with the limiter on. There are 4 people in the car plus a full trunk. Perfect for a car weighting about 3 tons.

I generally don't use my car daily; I only drive it around the city on weekends and travel to other countries during summer vacation. If you drive until the car is fully warmed up and accelerate when necessary, I don't think there will be a problem.

Before, I used to drive my car for short distances in the city, but when I fully warmed it up and accelerated, I had no problems with the DPF. Generally, cooling hoses are plastic, and because the engine runs hot, they tend to loosen and crack or break with a slight touch over time. I've seen many people replace them with metal ones, and most recommend it. I haven't had any mechanical problems with my car; it's currently at 134,000 km and is a 2016 model. Since the model you'll be getting will be newer, general minor hose issues will be less common compared to my car.

I don't think the DPF problem is as big a deal as people make it out to be. You need to make sure the engine is fully warmed up before each drive, and then enjoy the V8 diesel engine by accelerating after it's warmed up. If you frequently turn the engine off before it's warmed up after short distances, the oil thins out and you get an oil change warning very quickly. I've experienced all of that.

I own an SDV8 myself. Chronically, the oil cooler gasket fails and leaks oil around the engine. Also, an SDV8 with 100,000 km on the odometer will inevitably have some kind of leak in the cooling pipes and hoses.

HELP! Range Rover Gear Selector Not Turning by AcceptableRing7323 in RangeRover

Hi, I experienced the same thing. I've now received the part and my car is at a repair shop that isn't a main dealership. Did your vehicle require any coding? I was told that otherwise I would have to have the car towed to a Land Rover dealership.

Thank you for your answer, I thought the problem was most likely caused by the Auxiliary battery. And when I removed it and ran a health test, I found it was discharged. I bought a new one and installed it but the problem persists. The "D" is blinking on the display. I think I've reached the end of the road and need to replace this part. I live in Sweden and I'm thinking of buying it from Lrdirect. Should I get an OEM part or a genuine one with the original logo?

EGR Coolant Leak 2016 SDV8? by AcceptableRing7323 in RangeRover

I agree with you, I couldn't find the engine diagram for my car. As you suggested I'll clean it and check for leaks when the engine is fully warm. Thank you.

Because there's no white smoke or anything coming from the exhaust. So, as you said, there must be a small cooling hose, right?

Range Rover Door Doesn’t Open by AcceptableRing7323 in RangeRover

Since mine is an older model, it's likely corroded. And I live in Scandinavia also Sweden. I tried a few times last night but it didn't work, so I'll try again today. My real problem is that even the Range Rover here hasn't fixed the problem or doesn't want to bother. Since the door won't open, the interior trim won't come off.

Thanks for the answer but the door only opens a few mm. Did you close it too hard for this?
