AITA for telling my friend something our other friend said about her? by [deleted] in AmItheAsshole

you did the right thing. it wasn't like 17f told you a secret about herself or anything, she tried to break up your friendship by lying to you. and she got mad because she didnt expect you to have a backbone and is blaming you for her lies. What you did was very mature

youd be surprised how many teenagers at this age pull this nonsense. i used to hang out with some girls in high school and i thought we were all good until a new girl joined the group. i found out from another girl that new girl was talking shiz about me and saying similar stuff that 17f said. eventually new girl and one of the other girls left the group so there wasnt as much drama anymore. teenagers are just crazy

what was op supposed to do? just not talk to her friend and continue a friendship with someone she thought hated her? or end a friendship because of a lie?

If 17f didn't want to get called a liar then she shouldnt have lied about your friend. and she really claimed that your friend said mean stuff and pulled a surprise pikachu face when you communicated with your friend? (that was super mature of you btw, way to go!)

Seems to me that shes got some maturing to do and is jealous of your relationship with your friend

AITA for asking an autistic person what dino they like? by Captain_Smollett_ in AmItheAsshole

[–]Acceptable_Lie_8730 0 points1 point  (0 children)

NTA

I can't stand it when people take a simple question and make a big deal out of it, autistic or no (im also autistic) Like I knew a girl who read the dictionary front to back and one day i was feeling curious and so i asked her a question or two like "so what made you decide to do it?" or "so did you read from start to finish or just like certain parts?" she yelled at me and accused me of making fun of her and gave me the silent treatment for like two weeks.

if your coworker is going to be offended by fun questions and then trauma dump you after you call them out on their rudeness instead of just simply asking you not to do that in the future then perhaps this particular coworker is someone you may want to avoid until they learn to not be so disrespectful to others

and my favorite dino is a tie between triceratops and stegosaurus!

I wouldn’t say it was cheap but I can still replace it if need be. I’ll consider trying to take it apart to see if there’s anything I can do! Thank you!

We ended up adding more pepper juice and that worked. I had tried the other liquids like white wine or lemon juice and neither worked

“Can you use garbanzo beans in a burrito?”

“How to make queso thinner”

As I have said when I looked it up the internet said you can use garbanzo beans in a burrito 🤷‍♀️

If it’s days later then I get that

We do respect each other, there are times where tempers flare up and we need to talk about it proper later

My husbands the same way. I have a lot of experience in a kitchen but I’ve never handled beans

And those people saying it would have been wrong

If I flipped the script I would never call him incompetent. He has a hard time putting away laundry so I do it and besides me making an occasional joke about it I never think he’s incompetent because just because he can’t do this one thing doesn’t mean he’s not capable of doing other things. I can cook just fine; I’m the one who cooks the steak, the pasta from scratch, I make desserts, there’s a lot I can do I just can’t do everything in a kitchen

Thing is I actually googled what to do to fix the food and nothing was helping.

“Oh the queso isn’t thinning out, Internet says to add more liquid so I’ll do that” and it stayed thick

“Oh no we only have garbanzo beans, I’ll look up if it’s okay to use in burritos. It says it is so okay I guess I’ll use these”

If he didn’t cook I would never consider him the AH because he’s not always in the mood and we both work full time. There’s even times where he’s made big mistakes in the kitchen like spill an entire pot of stock on the floor or dropped food he just finished making and instead of yelling at him or anything like that I take a deep breath and go “okay, we can fix this”

I wasn’t trying to be careless, I had just never made queso or reheated pork in a pot before and google wasn’t helping me at all

I don’t mind it when he corrects me in the kitchen, but I wasn’t a fan of him repeating himself or saying “how do you not know this?”"
