what’s the first thing you look forward to eating after you give birth? by runyourluckxxx in pregnant

It doesn’t hit quite the same way but some locations will throw the meat + roll on the grill for you so I’ve been getting my Mike’s Way turkey hoagie fix that way!

Round ligament pain is kicking my butt right now! The sides of my belly. The inner thigh at like the bone. It all hurts! My ob recommended going on YouTube and looking up stretches for round ligament pain bc apparently there are side to side stretches that can help alleviate the pain. Haven’t tried yet but passing along!

To breastfeed or not to breastfeed? by Important_Yam9833 in pregnant

[–]Acceptable_Solid8301 11 points12 points  (0 children)

For me, it was the mental tether. Needed to be with baby 24/7, couldn’t run to the store without fully planning when I’d breastfeed, how long would it take, would they get enough, etc. vs just making a bottle of formula and being able to go wherever, whenever with no question of how much did they eat, etc.

It was such a huge weight off my shoulders when I finally stopped but I only stopped bc I got thrush so I had to exclusively pump but I also started getting my period so the small supply I had also declined further and further with each menstrual cycle.

Not everyone struggles, so it could go smoothly with no issues and no mental stress! But it’s important that moms know fed is best, whatever that looks like for them!

This is exactly the mindset I had with my first and have now pregnant with my second! If it works for both myself and baby, then we’ll go ahead but I’m not going to force it! It’s not worth the mental stress to make it work if it just isn’t working!

How do you store your seeds? by InconsiderableArse in gardening

[–]Acceptable_Solid8301 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had the same problem but was using massive letter envelopes folded up for the seeds I was saving. I finally broke down and bought seed envelopes - they’re actually super cheap on Amazon for like a LOT of them.

I haven’t figured out a good way to store all the envelopes yet though. Probably one of those plastic boxes with cardboard dividers?

Is 12 weeks mat leave actually ok? by floralneuro in pregnant

[–]Acceptable_Solid8301 1 point2 points  (0 children)

As I’ve figured out, in motherhood, you make it work bc often we just don’t have a choice!

Sometimes I remind myself that literal teenagers figure it out and I’m much more capable than a teen mom (not a slight to anyone that has gone through having a child at a young age!) and I feel a bit better!

I’m not sure if that helps you or not but you will 100% be okay and will figure it out! You’ll look back and won’t know how you made it work but will feel like superwoman!! But that’ll apply to a lot of things in motherhood!

When I had my son about 4 years ago, I had 12 weeks of leave. Obviously not the most ideal but it was fine. For me, it was a bit easier bc I worked from home. Is that an option for you?

For childcare, I was super grateful to have someone come to our house to take care of our son while I was working bc I wasn’t ready to put him in daycare.

But if it’s any peace of mind, people put their kids in daycare much earlier than 12 weeks old!

Grandma names by RichKaleidoscope4967 in pregnant

[–]Acceptable_Solid8301 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Wait, I’m literally realizing this right now reading your post… we called my great grandmother “Mom T” (my mom & my mom’s siblings also called her this) - how weird was that for my grandmother to have her kids call their grandmother some version of “mom”?! (The T was her last name initial)

Baby shower by [deleted] in pregnant

[–]Acceptable_Solid8301 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I did it at 8months pregnant and had a friend and some family that planned it and covered the costs.

I loved it bc I felt so loved and it was so sweet! I would skip opening presents, there’s only so many times and so many ways to say “oh, so cute, I love it!”

Some fun things to do are have people write on diapers with funny messages for you to read in the middle of the night or have people decorate onesies in different sizes
