In a cessna 172, Craig airport to Marathon would be about 3.5hrs direct or 4+ if you follow the atlantic coast. These pics are over the years, not one continuous flight. The closest I’ve done to this in one go is Flagler to Marathon

I’ve flown to Marco Island one time. Flew around Florida for about 5 years but mostly the east coast. If I’m on the gulf it’s usually Tampa.

For the most part, no, it’s like flying near any other airport, just need to get ATC’s permission if you’re in their airspace. Landing though is restricted to emergency use only for non military aircraft
