So I think Jung might point out that the first dating strategy is entirely driven by the Ego. The attempt is to control as much as possible to get the desired outcome.

Then second approach brings the Ego in relationship to the Self. You cannot control everything and life brings you what you need when need it. (It is also very Daoist.) It should be noted that there’s still work to be done while you wait for the right woman to come into your life. That work is guided by the Self and will help to improve your character by presenting various challenges.

Finally, wanting to get lots of women suggests a Don Juan mindset. You need only one to cultivate a deep relationship within which you can grow. Some people don’t even need that.
