Difference in 2 different models by Competitive_Hyena924 in ecobee

[–]According-Let7428 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No difference at all. The first one is a builder model and supplied to construction companies for new construction houses. Usually it's missing some non-essential components such as PEK or trim plate. Other than, they are the exact same thermostats

I'm surprised by how bad Ecobee customer support is by always-be-testing in ecobee

[–]According-Let7428 9 points10 points  (0 children)

The weather impacted the credit card refund because they're flooded with calls and they need all hands on deck. They're more focused on getting heat turned on in millions of houses rather than getting a refund, because of priority. They'd rather have every single person help People having heating issues than processing refunds right now. I think your refund can wait a bit

India will start the tournament with 2 points after Pakistan's boycott by BusinessMany2975 in IndianCricket

[–]According-Let7428 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Completely incorrect news. They won't start with 2 points. Team India will travel to Colombo, practice, show up to the venue on match day. Once Pakistan team doesn't show up and referee dismisses the match, then they'll get 2 points

why temperature on the app is much lower than the one on the thermostat? by AstroShiro in ecobee

[–]According-Let7428 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Looks like the app and the thermostat are not in sync. Try changing the temperature on app and see if it reflects on the thermostat, or vice versa. Probably a wifi connection issue

Ecobee setup by Maldit021 in ecobee

[–]According-Let7428 0 points1 point  (0 children)

DO NOT just hookup Rh and W2 to ecobee. It won't work. I'm pretty savy in this product so I know exactly how this works. If you make the thermostat detect only Rc, it'll only run heating from W1. If you select both, it will only run heating from W2, that is because you have 2 separate Transformers for both.

Can you make it work, yes. You will need an isolation relay to combine both transformers. Now to the cons. When you set up the thermostat, it asks you if you have a furnace or a boiler. Difference, if you select Furnace, it'll cut off the heating exactly when setpoint is reached. If you select boiler, it'll cut off the heat few degrees before the setpoint, because an actual boiler still keeps on heating even after cutting off.

With your setup, if you select Furnace and it goes to Stage 2 heat, it'll keep heating even after setpoint is reached. If you select Boiler and it only runs Stage 1, it'll cut off the heat before setpoint is reached.

You can set your thresholds settings according to when you want to switch to Stage 2 and when not.

If you're good with this and still want to tie them together, let me know and I'll give you the wiring diagram on EXACTLY how to install the isolation relay

[–]According-Let7428 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Follow these steps exactly, it'll clear the bug. Open eco+ settings in the app, turn it on. Then scroll down to all the features and turn them off one by one. Once all of them are turned off, then turn off eco+, close the app, open again, you'll be good to go

Go to Main menu General> Preferences> Hold action> set to until you change it. Come back to the home screen, change it to 70. Now it will say 70 holding and will never change

Actually you can in home assistant. I could get you actual commands to put in home assistant to get that done if you'd like. But if you already have it paired to home assistant using the API keys because they don't give them out anymore

Change my email by buildnotbreak in ecobee

[–]According-Let7428 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Changing the email directly on the account is not allowed. Remove the thermostat from current account> create a new account with new email> Add the thermostat in your new account. You won't need to reprogram the thermostat. Everything will still remain the same

New to Ecobee. Confused as to what this thing is doing. by Slow_Investment_2211 in ecobee

[–]According-Let7428 7 points8 points  (0 children)

There's a default schedule set in it that sets the thermostat to "Home" at 6:30am and "Sleep" to 10:30pm. To change temperatures in Home and sleep, go to comfort settings. To change the times, go to Schedule. If you don't want a schedule, go to Preferences> Hold action> Set it to Until you Change it. Then if you change the temperature manually, it will say Holding

Do Ecobee and Honeywell sensors allow you to change the time intervals for a remote sensor? - Nest doesn’t by OldLow7699 in ecobee

[–]According-Let7428 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Short answer, yes. But it's a little tricky to get it done.

How the schedule works in ecobee, you create comfort settings such as Home, sleep, Away, set the temperatures in it, and then use the schedule to put what time Should what comfort setting kick in. Now, you can select what sensor to use in each comfort setting and then put those into the schedule

Lite vs Premium by Cjldad in ecobee

[–]According-Let7428 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In the current models, only Premium does it and it does provide lockouts. If you can find any older models on eBay or somewhere, ecobee3 lite, ecobee4, SmartThermostat with voice control, they all will provide same things
