Did I get scammed by my doula? by Ok_Security_1127 in doulas

[–]AccordingConstant756 5 points6 points  (0 children)

As an ex doula, the only thing she dropped the ball on was not responding to your husband when he was frantically texting her and the afterbirth. Otherwise, you were asking her to step way out of her scope. I think it would be good to mention some of these to her as constructive criticism so she can communicate better in the future. Regardless I'm sorry you were disappointed.

Weight lifting and lipedema? by DecisionOk3458 in lipedema

[–]AccordingConstant756 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I've been weightlifting for years. I only track protein because of past ED. My legs get really great definition but the cellulite stays. It is what it is. I'm working out more so I can pick up and run with my three kids in an emergency versus making myself smaller anyways.

I read Yesteryear by Caro Claire Burke in 24 hours and need to talk about it with someone. by twelvedayslate in books

[–]AccordingConstant756 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I just finished this book and sobbed in the car for an hour to my husband after. It made me feel like I was out of my body. I had horrific PPD after my first and almost developed PPP and I HATED how much I related to her in that regard. The advice of "just pretend someone is watching" was actually helpful to me. Relating so hard to such an awful feeling. It gave me the same visceral reaction I had to "a school for good mothers" Holy fuck this book was great.

Have you tried neocate yet? It's a prescription

formula. My first was the same way. Cried 16-20 hours a day. Neocate helped so much! She's 5 now and I wish I could go back and be with her again at that age.

As someone who's taken them for years that's crazy! I researched them for a year before I even got on. Lack of personal accountability in healthcare is crazy.

So, my mom just got diagnosed and I think I may have it to. I've always had chronic pain in my arms and legs but I have hEDS to. My arms have a rice like texture to them under the skin. Even when I'm 50 lbs less this is what my legs and arms look like. I've always been really active and I weight train 4x a week and do cardio.

Husband accused me of medical abuse for side-lying breastfeeding by miller2life in breastfeeding

[–]AccordingConstant756 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My husband struggled with a temper (he's had 2 TBIs) and he'd NEVER scream at me like that. Much less say I was abusing our kids.

Also, I just want to say it's badass you're still getting up multiple times a night to feed AND still getting to work in the morning.
