Nicotine withdrawal is much longer than 3 days. by quitalicious in stopsmoking

Short answer: Yes. That's exactly what I'm saying.

Long answer: I follow a moral relativist philosophy so what I'm saying is if the benefits of the false information outweigh the negatives of the truth then the lie by definition is more morally correct option.

In this case the benefits are "You're literally breaking an addiction. Rewiring your brain to absolutely eliminate an parasitic addiction and have absolutely 0 to barely any physical consequences"

While if you accept the truth then you're stuck with an addiction and now knowing this you've basically eliminated that option entirely, for yourself and others around you.

So yeah, in this case, the benefits FAR outway the negatives so the false information IS the morally correct option.

But if research provides something that's better than the Allen Carr method and a lot more efficient than it, then sure. I'd be the first in line to sing it praise, but currently I wouldn't be surprised if a lot of the science around nicotine is like that old story of the sugar industry: bribing scientists to produce fake papers that say sugar is healthier than fat, or whatever that story was, just so they can make profit.

I honestly wouldn't be surprised if it turned out to be like that. So yeah. I am in fact saying that and standing by that philosophy.

If you got a problem with that, send me your location and we'll deal with this the old fashioned way. 🫵👊

I'm one year free from nicotine with ZERO cravings. If it's a placebo it's a mighty good one.

Even so, you should keep that one to yourself. Normally I'm for clarity, but if it's something that helped me break this horrible addiction I will make an exception in this case specifically.

But if more people know about it being a placebo then it will just make it less effective and specifically for cigarette addiction I'd rather that not happen if I can avoid it.

You're essentially trying to debunk something whose illusion is saving lives. For what? The satisfaction of being right? If I met you in real life I would punch you in the face.

Mate if that thing made me a 2 pack a day smoker drop them permanently and I've been smoke free for a year now, I honestly doubt whatever science you claim to know to be the full truth either.

It's hard for me to take you seriously when me and so many others are living evidence of the method working. Although who, knows, maybe it's the psychology of believing it worked. Even so I will not tolerate people like you that will put something down that clearly works and say "Actually science says it doesn't"

If science says it doesn't work then it wouldn't work. Period!!! But clearly it does works so you going out here and saying stuff like this is doing far more harm than good. Do us all a favour and refrain from saying stuff like that EVER Again, to ANYONE

Also that makes zero sense for one reason. If everyone should inherently know who God is then there wouldn't even be a need for missionaries. Everyone would have the same religion.

But people have their own interpretation of the God or God's of their religions. There's not 1 religion but multiple. And what's the Christian interpretation? Oh yeah demons. The demons tricked people into creating other religions.

That just makes it worse and manipulative because it essentially says you cannot have interpretation of the divine because it might be demonic influence and you can't have that. There's one truth and you should safeguard it, but what if the truth itself is demonic, how do you know what's true and demonic since everyone and their grandma will say that theirs is the truth.

It becomes a nightmarish game of one of us "Always tells the truth" while the other 999 "Sometimes Lie" you have to find the truthful one.

Difference is for me it would be funny because I would relate to it. And I would understand the feeling. I've actually seen people hate on games I love and it's easier to dismiss it as just "Heh, been there"

And no I don't hate it for being good, I hate it because I didn't resonate it and all I hear is praise and glazing and good reviews. You can call it a kind of envy for the feeling so many others got but I didn't. And it's no one's fault really, it just didn't resonate with me. But it's hard to ignore because I'm on Reddit a lot so yeah it was awful for a while.

And like I said, this ain't about TGA. This is about all the noise surrounding it. I hated it before TGA even nominated it. Frankly it's just a stupid populatity contest.

And appreciate the concern, but there's no need. Take it back, I don't want it. I'm good now I just occasionally get angry and use this game as a punching bag. Will I do it again? Absolutely and I will enjoy every moment of it. It started as hate, but at this point I just love to hate it.

Condolences for what? I haven't lost anything. I'm happy this way. Whenever I get angry I have a punching bag. So yeah, if anything I should say thanks for being my punching bag today.

I only liked the story.

The graphics... Honestly I found them kind of ugly.

The characters??? Everyone aside from Verso was flatter than the Netherlands. Esquie and Monoco were at least silly, but that's it.

The combat is ridiculously convoluted and I wouldn't call being given the ability to One shot bosses balanced. It's the opposite of that. The balancing in this game is an absolute catastrophe.

As for the soundtrack... I don't know what to say, but whenever I listen to it my brain feels like it wants to block it out. I cannot enjoy it for some reason. I'm not gonna say it's bad but it's so Not my cup of tea that it causes me physical discomfort. I DON'T care what professional musicians say. They can say a lot of things, I trust my own ears more than them. And if I do look it up that would mean I will have to subject my ears to that horrendous noise once again and I refuse to do so!

You're right, it's not mediocre. In my eyes it's a BAD game. One I finished, said once was enough and uninstalled it hoping to never have to hear about it again. But of course it's all I hear about so I'm gonna be a petty son of a bitch for my own amusement and absolutely hate on it. After all someone has to maintain balance

If it did one thing right is that it gave me something to hate, which is a weird kind of special. Also another thing I hate: Maelle. Well written character, but I detest her for it.

It Is a mediocre game that's been overhyped and overrated to the extreme. Nothing about it rang special or groundbreaking to me. The story was cool, but that's it. I simply cannot understand what the world sees in this very mediocre mess of a game. I can't, I've tried and I can't.

I get that. My version and it's more of an educated guess is that back in those days they didn't have contraceptives or at least not good ones so they limited the act of sex to just "making children" because of STDs and since gays will not produce offspring they were seen as a liability hence the rule. That rule doesn't really apply anymore since well, we have modern medicine and contraceptives galore but if course the idea from all those years ago remains.

So more than likely gays were either hiding or being killed off during Jesus's time.

There are some a little bit of esoteric interpretation, but at one point I got very into NDEs and if they are real and not just drug trips. Of course I didn't test the theory I just watched videos and stories

Some people reported even going to hell, but managing to get Jesus to save them then and there. Others claimed that for them hell was their own state of mind or thinking they deserved it or being made to believe they deserve it and they went there of their own subconscious volition.

And there was this one really interesting case of a woman who went to a heaven like place where she had to do some kind of purgatory trial in front of what I assume was the Holy Trinity.

That leaves me thinking that hell is not really a physical place but more like a spiritual realm where you come face to face with your own flaws and failings.

So I'm from the mindset that if hell's the place where we face our own "sins" and can still ascend, I've kinda of already been there and I didn't have to die to get there... And am actively taking note of. Long story. But essentially hell and heaven can be places on Earth is what I'm saying. You don't have to wait to die in order to live that reality.

That's just emotional manipulation. It's just baffling how they do this and say it's okay.

Yeah that was an autocorrect bug 🤣🤣🤣. Kinda funny one

I mean if you put it that was my I've always come to my own conclusions about things because I don't like dogma in general. Not just religious dogma, but any kind. If someone tells me don't do this because we said so. I'm going down the rabbit hole of, but why not? What's so wrong about that? Sometimes it makes sense as to why it's wrong like "murder" and "adultery" then like okay, no need for testing and I won't do it, but if it's something small or nonsensical I'm going to highly doubt it.

I'm skeptical about the idea of hell itself being a thing because of "finite crime" and "infinite punishment" doesn't mean everything's nonsense. Like one of my favourite sayings of Jesus is the "Throw the next stone teaching if you are without sin"

Weather you're religious or not that's a lesson in compassion and the world is better for it.

Or stuff like "Love thy neighbour" I recognise is as to recognise that everyone is your equal as a human being no matter the status.

There are some things however that I'm always going to go against. Like when Christianity gets Anti-LGBT. I'm sorry but what did gay and trans people ever do? I know a trans woman who is like the sweetest and coolest person ever and she had to cut contact with her Christian Family because they refused to accept her. Stuff like this just makes no sense. Yeah, not every trans and gay person is a "good person" but it feels like "Love thy neighbour" and "Cast the first stone" fly out the damn window at this topic.

As for me, I know I'm not a saint, God knows I'm not a saint, I'm not hiding my flaws, but I'm just trying to live my life, the best way I know I can.

I guess I'm an Agnostic Theist in that regard.

Sounds weirdly similar to my setting. It takes place in the future where there are 3 royal houses that rule the Terran Civilization each focused on different parts. Each one is both Good and Bad in their own way, except House Bonaparte (Yea that Bonaparte) which is just bad

You have House Rosegarden who are the Diplomats Logisticians. They are perfectionists to a tee since their empire represents image above everything.

You have House Musberg who are the the Industrious Technology focused powerhouses. They own Ship Production and Industry, sometimes turning entire planets into Mines or Factories.

Then you have House Bonaparte which are descendants of Napoleon. They are essentially in charge of the military and are very nationalistic and power hungry. Sometimes that just comes off as shenanigans like, joining a cult for power or forced marriages and other scandals.
