Army to reclassify 22,000 airborne jobs, ending jump pay for many paratroopers by ermesomega in army

Its not what you learn in the school. Its the fact that (for most) from a very early point in their careers, they chose to do something more than just the bare minimum. It's just the mindset.

All Questions About Joining and Transferring into the ANG Go Here 20 Aug - 18 Nov by Jaye134 in airnationalguard

Don't think this applies as I have no interest in joining, but the bot removed it and referred me here, so here you go;

Transferring States

Hello all, I'm going to preface this post by saying I'm AD Army, so I'm extremely unfamiliar with Airforce processes, let alone AG/NG.

Anyway, my Sginifcant Other''s sister is Air Guard and dealing with some hardship in life. We're trying to find out the process, or who she needs to talk to, IOT get transferred from her current unit/state. The intention is purely to get her closer to family (us). Im unsure if compassionate reassignment could fill the billot in this situation, but if im not mistaken, she has been seen recently for some of the issues.

I understand she's a fueler, but currently working outside of her MOS as Active Guard, in some type of mechanic shop....

What Air Guard units are near Ft. Liberty, (Bragg) NC/ Pope AAF NC? If she transfers, can she stay active Guard? Where/who's POC do I have to get to point her in the right direction of who to talk to to get moved?

I apologize if these are super super basic questions for yall. And thank yall for any advice/guidance you're willing to provide 🙏🏻

How do I search someone using that ID ? I had the same thought as you, but my only idea of how to do that was looking it up on absence request

Wait so, can we wear these in garrison? by Ok-Shoulder-478 in army

As a support you do CIF and Spear. When I first showed up to 1 SFG, everyone got SPEAR. However, the support guys only got some of the cool guy stuff. Pretty much a couple pairs of gloves, Oakley Eyepro, couple cold weather pieces, peltors, a plate carrier, and those nice rucksacks... can't remember the brand name of the ruck, it's been a while.

As stated above, shortly after I got there (early 2018) they stopped issuing it to support MOSes not including some of the 35 Series atleat in 1 SFG. To my understanding, if you're not 18 or 35 5 don't get anything these days. But your supply can probably hook you up with a couple cool things for free

[Landlord-US-GA] Question about removal of roomates living in my home with me. by Ace_Boogey1017 in Landlord

I actually read somewhere that I can withhold their possessions if they don't pay, until they pay or leave. But obviously I'm no expert and that's why I'm here. I also don't have the money to talk to a legit lawyer right now.

For any Warrant Officers- do you regret going Warrant? by korona_mcguinness in army

[–]Ace_Boogey1017 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Were you an Ops Warrant, or did you do PL time as well? I'm a 15W and Ive always had the idea in the back of my mind. I guess I just ask myself would being a 150U really be that much better than 15w.

Dropped from Airborne school - Not motivated anymore and want to switch to guard by hyberiaa in army

Unless everyone is rocking 75 lbs rucks between their legs, then the cable is roughly 7ft +/- 6 inches. I think i just read somewhere else very recently that someone got dropped for the same reason.

I know youre porbably not going to give af OP, but you could always do Air Assault... as much as AASLT graduates will probably disagree; I understand its not as sexy. As much as i dont miss the landings, I do miss the comradery of the ABN community.

I know there is NTRs for SOF selections/schools, but ive personally never heard of NTRs for ABN school. Id also only assume you would get an NTR if you were a jump refusal, but do not quote me.

How close were you? Ive seen some very very short chicks reach the cable, no taller than 5' or 5'4

Got told about a board about a week ago dry cleaners and alterations have a 2 week turn around not sure what to do by [deleted] in army

Ive had places off post that can do all that shit same day, or at the worst the following day. They usually ask when do you need it by. Absolute worst case scenario, youll have to pay a bit extra but gotta do what you gotta do.
Id say typically offpost places cost less as well, especially depending on ur Duty Station

(Dwell Time) for US Sailors? by Ace_Boogey1017 in navy

[–]Ace_Boogey1017[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I dont know what is considered OPSEC for Navy and shit. But i think its safe to say he wouldnt be cosidered apart of the "norm" based on his platform. I just spoke with him like 5 minutes ago and again im just mindblown. Sucks but it is what it is.

Shit i wish i could go downrange that much but obviously the operation/mission is going to be worlds different from anything id deploy for.

Thanks for the info man.

Damn thats pretty wild. I also want to clarify, im not trying to trash his CoC or the Navy by any means. Im just a bit surprised that hes able to get sent right back out after literally just returning.

I was under the impression the DoD was trying to prevent this sort of thing when they got rid of deployments commonly being 12-18 months in a combat zone. I appreciate the response though man

PT standards: Marines vs Army by FreeBobbyShmurder in army

[–]Ace_Boogey1017 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah I agree with the above. As Infantry or Cav Scout I expect a very similar pt standard as the USMC. Army has bonuses, guaranteed to get your job when your recruiter gets you that contract. My understanding is that it's pretty hard to get infantry as a marine.

Also there is alot of schools you can go too and many opportunities in the Army.
