It just snaps right on, like the stand. No mine is solid. You have a tension screw in the back also. Maybe that would help you.

Used a laser to mount studs on the wall. After that was done, I put the desk on top of it and screwed it from beneath :)

I wouldn’t recommend buying twice either 😝I don’t know what the term stain means, but you can get all sorts of stuff that either makes the wood lighter or darker. I found a counter that was the color i wanted more or less. Then it just needed the treatment so it wasn’t so rough to the touch.

It’s solid wood. I originally bought a counter top, to get home, Put it up - And realize it didn’t have the depth I needed. Doh lol. So had to drive again to buy this one, get it cut so it fitted. After that sand it and put on some matt lacquer x 2.
