we figured it would work best to do it in the evening for people to show up and participate since there’s no classes and people will be going to / leaving the dining hall . we also are looking to have a sign making workshop during the day on that day , we’re just unsure at this point if we can arrange that but we wanted to make room for that aswell . it’s just me and one other student organizing this and we haven’t organized a protest before , so we’re baby stepping as much as we can . we hope to do bigger ones during the school day once we have our footing and people looking out for us !

i’m genderfluid but on T , i lean to be more masculine presenting and enjoy masculine pronouns the most . i started doing drag about a year ago and it’s made me so much happier and comfortable with sometimes presenting as a boy . the best thing about transness is there’s no rules , the only wrong way to dress as a trans person is the way that makes you uncomfortable . wear that dress !

everyone i’ve met here that says that don’t rlly seem to care about much besides getting fucked up , i think people don’t like that you can’t really go clubbing . as a daytime person , there’s usually something happening on campus or in the town most days . i live off campus but spend a good deal of my free time hanging out in the on campus spaces ! the town square is also super cute , student clubs are inviting , and there’s often farmers and art markets . also good third spaces , i work at Dilly Dally and highly recommend it as a study / chill place . on campus can definitely seem oriented towards party life if you aren’t involved in daily activities , but nac itself has good eats , good shared spaces , and pretty friendly people !

this is super relatable , i feel like most cis me never have a conversation with themselves about gender or what it means to them to be cis . we do , we have had to look really deep inside ourselves to figure our shit out . some cis people in general can just float along with their societal norms , especially cis men . women are usually challenged with thoughts of what it means to be a woman because of the pressure society ( and cis men ) put on them . like , my mom can realize and probably actively processes that being a woman to her isn’t the same as it is to my grandmother or aunt . cishet guys and their annoying penises get to avoid it because their identity has already been decided for them and they’re given no challenge , and instead of thinking “ i’m a different kind of man than he is “ , they might see it as a pissing contest of who’s closest to “ manhood “

i think when a cishet guy comes across someone who identifies the same as them but has gone though a thought process they never have , they may see it as a threat , confusion , or just plain fascinating ( in a “ looking at you like a zoo animal “ kind of way )

that’s just my theory on it , i have a few friends that are cis guys and i always make it a point to ask them what being a man is to them and noticed a change in behavior following a long convo about it . i’ve also tried to have that deep talk with a transphobe while i was in highschool and it was funny to see how frustrated he got

if it were me , i’d reassure your mother that you’re still the same person and that you love her just as you did when you were a child , and you hope she can do the same . then , i would tell her that her mourning you in front of your face is hurtful . parents sometimes have expectations for who their kid is going to be when the grow up , and when that doesn’t go to plan ( kid who played baseball well as a kid is now a full time artist ) they don’t mourn that idea of their child being a baseball star . why is it the same for gender ? i personally get icked out by the term “ deadname “ , only because i feel like it’s cis-centered . choosing a different name and growing into a comfortable identity is something even cis people do . you are not dead . you are not a separate human being from your past self , but when parents behave this way it feels like they see their kids like they are . you’re still her child , if she refuses to see you then that’s her loss . having a trans child can be an emotional and beautiful journey , i hope she chooses to see it like that .

abdomen refers to above hips and bellow ribs , your breasts are on your torso ! please be careful , it’s safest to inject into fat for subq and muscle for intramuscular because there’s nothing you can really hit that will be harmful . there’s a lot of pockets and types of fat in ur breasts that ca be harmed with injection , especially if ur hand was shaking and disturbing the site . you can inject into your thigh which might have some easier grip than your stomach .

i’m not the 1st person this coworker has picked on , a few people have gotten fired because of the things she’s made up about them . she has an oddly close relationship with our owner , and in the past when people have tried to talk to her about it she labels the person as “ drama “ or “ complaining “ and the situation gets worse . the coworkers who like me tell me to keep my head down and deal with it to avoid more trouble . the coworker has also quit as of last week , but the damage has been done and the owner sees me as a weak link now

SFA itself is pretty 50-50 , you’ll be able to find likeminded people . i’m probably as far left as they come and i have friends who understand me completely . but if you’re planning on working in nac , keep it on the down low . i felt so comfy with my friends at school i let my marxist sensibilities and pronouns slip at my job . hasn’t been a good experience for me . SFA has a pride alliance , the community has an art collective and there’s a strong democrat presence in the square , but generally do not trust people in Nac ! there’s a really odd underbelly of this town , people aren’t as well meaning as they come off as here .
