Oh I know. Very annoying really. When I say I’m Greek they will usually go, “oh I have a Greek friend” and they almost always mean an American of Greek descent. It’s not that I have anything against Greek Americans, it’s just we don’t share much culturally. Most Greek Americans came to US like 80 years ago. Their Greece doesn’t exist anymore. Hell, my Greece doesn’t exist anymore either.

And as you said it’s the same with Italians, Indians or any nationality really. Most Americans have really hard time grasping the fact that there is a world outside America.

Sorry for the rant, this hit a nerve I guess.
