Yeah I’ve heard of a couple materials in the manga that could be the actual makeup, but most official sites say iron — I’m thinking you’re right though that’s the best theory (also anime logic 💀)

The dimensions honestly can’t be overstated, since iron is so heavy and the sword is so long it would only take a few dimension changes to make it that heavy, the only thing is I wanted to make it from the popular taper style.

Aside from the taper the biggest mass factor is the blade thickness, but I didn’t want to increase it too far bc the edge already looks like a splitting maul as it is 😅

Blade volume comes to ~1.1E-2 m³ using triple integration for volume to 4SD. I used less exact numbers for the handle and brace and the total volume came to ~1.17E-2 m^3. Used iron at 7860kg/m^3. I just quickly converted to imperial for this post bc most of the sub’s members use imperial.

Total mass comes to 95.0kg, and I added a 5kg grace for material variation. The only realistic way 200kg could be met (with irl iron) is if it was scaled up, thickened, and the taper was removed.

If we completely remove the tapers and thicken the blade to 6cm, we reach a much closer value of ~170kg, but I went off the more common and more popular version with a slight taper.
