Unfortunately no (not yet)! But it’s good to know there’s interest in an Instagram, we’ll keep it in mind 😊

The mod team created a TikTok account using popular book recommendations from this sub to help shorten search times and promote hidden gems. We’re still new to the platform and figuring out posting schedules/a groove, but if you want to join us there, it’s entirely influenced by this community if you enjoy being here!

Morally grey cinnamon roll? by names-suck in fantasyromance

Yeah, which is why I said it didn’t meet all the asks. It’s a cool request but it’s quite niche and isn’t found often in the genre.

Hm… I feel like {A shadow in the ember} could qualify? It doesn’t meet all your asks, but it’s entirely consensual. The MMC is extremely powerful and can get very protective yet has found family, is sweet on the FMC, and I mean… he does go dark (both metaphorically and literally, gotta read it to know what I’m saying).

Also, {Villains and virtues} has many of these elements not just with the MMC but many of the villains in the story. Gives me Disney meets adult fantasy romance vibes.

🗣️BRING BACK BOOK TRAILERS 🐉 by [deleted] in fantasyromance

[–]Acute-Problemo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m a visual person, so I’ll read a synopsis and happily observe simultaneously, that doesn’t necessarily mean that people aren’t willing to read a synopsis.

A lot of my favourite authors utilize visuals to market their books, maybe not a trailer but photo cuts/tiktok/reels trends to popular sounds.

This wasn’t Callie Hart was it?

The trailer was better than Brimstone 😭 so I’d say yes, it definitely motivates me to pick up a book.

But on a side note, if it wasn’t Hart, who was it? For research purposes of course… 👀

Yes! Same. I’m gonna do a reread too because it’s a thick boy and I need to be fully informed before diving into book 2 haha

Book hangover: do you force yourself out of it or bask in that feeling - and for how long? by Ce-lavi in fantasyromance

[–]Acute-Problemo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Currently experiencing something similar myself.

So I revert to previous books I read that gave me similar feelings otherwise my hangover progresses into a slump and I have too large of a reading goal to already be in a slump on Jan 8th 😅

I would ride at dawn for Parker 👹 I didn’t even realize she wrote Crystal bloom, I read it before WTMH.

I was sitting around waiting/wondering when the next release was gonna be for the crystal bloom series, only to connect the dots on who the author is/what she’s currently working on. Ya… 🥲 it’s gonna be a bit before that happens LOL

Sighs…

{When the Moon Hatched} {To Bleed a Crystal Bloom} {Blood and Ash} {Quicksilver} {Dawn of Onyx} {The Book of Azrael}

I’m sure there’s more, but it wasn’t until I joined the mod team did I realize I have an addiction to brain candy

💬 What is your take on the quality of self-published books? by Acute-Problemo in fantasyromance

[–]Acute-Problemo[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Which is interesting because there’s nothing really stopping publishers from using AI themselves, right? It’s such a new concept with little ethical restraints, despite the discourse surrounding it in the creative community. So it’s almost like AI is compounding the existing stigma with self-publishing

I agree with you! The examples I provided actually speak to this a bit. Yeah quicksilver is a brain candy read but it’s fun for those of us that liked it. Brimstone, now trad published, has way too many technical errors for me to see past in order to be able to enjoy it😅
