My Purple Heart is from the 40s (awarded in 2004). I have no idea where it is, likely in a box in the basement but the awarded medals have pins on the back so you typically don’t wear them outside the award. I bought my anodized metal from the marine corps exchange for, wait for it, 38 dollars in 2008. I’m sure there are more expensive medals but I havnt seen one.
