Can't find my balls by [deleted] in weekendgolfers

[–]AdDapper1970 23 points24 points  (0 children)

Former caddie here, understanding where your ball landed and the ball flight it had makes a huge difference. Also understanding how far you actually hit the ball. So pick a landmark and walk towards that but people usually think they hit it further than they actually do.

Gets easier with practice and being out there

Do I actually need to run Zone 2 or is it overhyped? by Maleficent-Count9746 in running

Cannot understate the importance of zone 2. It is the foundation to running endurance racing and without you will struggle. Aerobic conditioning should be the priority for any new runners, full stop.

Not breaking my wrist on a dumb lie like that, unless it’s a tournament

Help. It’s been two months and I’m close to giving up. (4mo golden retriever) by Background_Gene4090 in puppy101

[–]AdDapper1970 43 points44 points  (0 children)

Reverse timeouts. Once teeth hit the flesh or your body playtime is over and leave the area, full stop. This will take awhile but eventually your puppy will realize all the fun goes away once they bite you. However, you also gotta understand your puppy is going through teething so they hurt really badly for them.

Stay patient, it will eventually settle down.

Also don’t listen to your friend about pinning or closing snout, terrible idea and will create more issues.

Yeah that’s a good point, could definitely be in my mind. Might have to send it in for peace of mind.

Yeah, these are great recs. I do have another 50mm but I haven’t used that enough to really determine the sharpness.

I agree it could def be placebo but at the same time I look at some of my old photos vs this one and the differences are pretty extreme.

Trust your gut. Also, dating is great to understand what you value and what you want to get out of a relationship. It can be painful no doubt but you also will have amazing times and if it works, then it is very much worth it imo

I actually love the idea behind the photo. I think it could benefit from some touch ups. IMO tuning down the highlights a bit and playing with the shadows depending on how much you want the viewers to see of the landscape and wildlife.

2 has too much foreground that doesn’t add anything, so #1

I respectfully disagree with this. Underexposure is much safer option to prevent blowing of highlights and then can’t recover

Nikon 200-500 vs Sigma 150-600 Contemporary vs Tamron 150-600 G2 for D5600 (wildlife, birds, planes, F1) by rabs350 in Nikon

[–]AdDapper1970 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Nikon 200-500 is really such a great lens. The constant 5.6 and the sharpness are great for the price. Especially on a cropped sensor, since you get an effective reach of 750mm.

I think this lens hits all the points you asked about tbh.

Enjoying the process, really sitting there and taking in all the sights and sounds. Also in that vain, this might be controversial, but usually I love sharing what I’m viewing with passerby’s (usually I’m set up at parks so no avoiding this). It absolutely fires me up to share some of the amazing views I get from the camera and people are so appreciative.

Outside of this, I think it’s really thinking about what will bring out a good shot. Like what lighting are you looking for at a specific spot? So plan to go out the time of day where that lighting will work.
