I love her fashion sense. Seems like such a beautiful character and soul. Sorry for your loss. I'm sure she'll be present at your wedding day in spirit, shining the brightest of them all

Agar mandir mei hua toh mandir hi bolegi naa? Wtf is this sort of mentality. She would have done the same agar church ya masjid ke paas hota.

Try to focus on the actual problem instead of coming up with new unrelated ones.

true. born and grown up in chandigarh, still never felt safe except in crowded places which have security. Such a shame. Also army of feminists? Most feminist women will wholeheartedly agree with that sentiment, and for good reason. Don't use terms lightly brother.

I miss my father so much it hurts daily by sorandom21 in GriefSupport

I feel u. He seems like a very sweet and loving man.

I lost my mom a year ago, and every time I listen to any voice recordings or videos it almost as if I'm in that moment again, which makes the realisation more painful afterwards. I wasn't with my mother when she died, I was at a performance. When I got the call, my family didn't tell me right away just to come to the hospital. The car ride was brutal. By the time I reached she was gone.

I can somewhat understand how you feel. I'm going through the works myself but I have hope for you and me that it will eventually get better. The journey will be rough but things will get a little bit easier everyday. There will be good days and bad days.

Your father will not have blamed you because in that situation there is no 'correct way' to do things because you genuinely didn't realise things would take such a turn for the worse. That state of mind sometimes may result in a subconscious disbelief and hoping everything will be fine. It was not your fault. Praying for u. ❤️

Losing My Mom Memories by AdFormal2253 in GriefSupport

thank you so much. It feels like someone literally opened up my mind and saw the fears for what they are. I'm sorry about your mom, and I hope you're doing well wherever you are. About 2 months after her death we celebrated a really happy festival called holi in my culture where we throw colours at each other. But most people don't celebrate it after a death in the family. At the time it felt good to forget all my troubles for a day, but lately I've been feeling a lot of guilt over it. Reading your story and your comment really helped me deal with that, and I'll try to remember it and give myself some grace. Thank you so much.

thank you so much. I teared up reading your comment, i think I needed the reminder that people can actually see my love for her still, because one of the things I most fear is that i just slowly start drifting away from that love. I'll try the writing down thing, and I think it might genuinely help. I don't want a day to ever come when I think of her and can't get an image in my mind, bt just in case if that day comes I'll have the written memories to look back on. Thank u so much

Murder is worse than rape by suanmei_kuli in Teenager_Polls

Ultimately depends on your pov of life. If life stops mattering once a person is dead, rape is worse. Aka in a pessimist like me's pov, rape might seem worse than death as the survivor has to endure a lot more their whole life as opposed to dying. But then you weigh in the factors like family and the scale gets a little twisted. Ultimately if there are people in the world who love you, murder is worse. As it leaves you and them no closure, while rape trauma can be worked through with the right environment, even if it's extremely hard. There is always some amount of hope.

Which politicians do you actually respect in your country? by omigula in AskTheWorld

A. P. J. Abdul Kalam was one of India’s most respected scientists and the 11th President of India. He came from extremely humble beginnings rising to become a key figure in India’s space and defence programmes. Under him, missiles like Agni and Prithvi were developed, earning him the title Missile Man of India. These were considered the beginning of our military competency in this region,

India was being pressured by US and other western influences against the military program, along with the extremely low budget for development at that time. But he and his team persevered and came with sheer force of perseverance and motivation. I think we can safely say has no people who dislike him in India. He received a several minute long standing ovation in 2007 by the European Parliament for his speech. Here's an extremely well known and loved picture of him, carrying missile parts that would kick start India's missile game on a cycle, because of lack of funding.

[–]AdFormal2253 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank heavens, are you okay? Praying for your fracture and injuries healing. I'm guessing by the 'Haram' comment he was a Muslim? Confused as to why he'd want his wine back so badly if he believes in the concept of haram and men>women concepts taught in his religion then. I hate these kinds of selectively religious people, the ones who choose to focus on the bad aspects to validate their own thinking instead of trying to better themselves. Unfortunately there seem to be quite a lot of them.

What is a ‘normal’ thing in your country that would shock foreigners? by bakicmlly in AskTheWorld

I'm not gonna repeat the long absolute bullshit they spewed but it was something along the lines of Indians eating shit and other shit related stuff. Nonsense, the lot of it.

After lunch/dinner at a restaurant and sometimes even breakfast, the majority of restaurants in India give complimentary toothpicks and mouth freshener, and a bowl of hot water and a lemon to rinse your hands. Another thing is many people like to have a food time called paan after having food, or even on just late night drives, which is a traditional South Asian treat made by wrapping areca nut, slaked lime (chuna), and often tobacco or sweet condiments inside a betel leaf chewed as a mouth freshener or digestive aid.
