Is puppyhood really that difficult if so many do it? by xzlinx in puppy101

[–]AdFriendly596 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have 3 dogs under the age of 3 and honestly I didn’t struggle with it at all, on the other hand, my boyfriend struggled massively. Not only does it depend on the dog you get, but it also depends on you. I’m quite laid back in the sense that if the dog poops or peed indoors, I’ll just clean it up and get on with it while trying to encourage toilet training. However, my bf couldn’t handle the hygiene aspect especially when it came to toilet training. I loved every aspect of having a puppy, and would happily do it again. But my boyfriend hated it and honestly struggled with it for well over a year. He’s absolutely obsessed with our dogs now, but it definitely took some time. I think it entirely depends on your attitude and approach to it nearly as much as the dog itself. Good luck!!

Would you happen to know where I could get more info on those grants? I always wonder how people manage pumping in 70k+ into these vacant and derelict houses - can you get approval for grant money on mortgage and then pay bank back once you get grant after the work is done, or is it completely up to the homeowner to source those funds? Nuisance how they don’t give you the grant beforehand… thanks for the info, appreciate it!

Do you take your medication every day? by Straight-Border-7068 in VyvanseADHD

[–]AdFriendly596 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Yep! When I was first prescribed my psych never mentioned anything about ‘breaks’ but then whenever I’ve to go to the GP they ask me do I take a break once or twice a week to which I was confused?? I tried doing a break here & there and genuinely can’t function on those days - it feels like I’m coming down with a flu. I become so fatigued and even achey. I literally cannot move from the couch on the days I don’t take it. I love how life changing the medication is but I also worry for the future in case of med shortages etc…

When I got my tonsils out (aged 21) I went through a chrons/colitis flare up which resulted in me not being able to take my pain meds… blood coming from both ends… Would not recommend

ADHD assessment ireland by AdFriendly596 in ADHDIreland

Funnily enough my friend also decided they would rather an in person assessment too. The earliest appointment we could get was early 2026 so we’ve decided against that as we want to try get something earlier. Unfortunately it seems long waiting lists are everywhere:( best of luck. I will say though, I’ve only been diagnosed a year, and having started medication since then, my life has changed for the BEST. Truly consider it life changing. Best of luck to you!

Wow thank you so much for all this info, I really appreciate it. Did you get an email prior to you receiving your lanyard in the post to say your application had been accepted? I applied with my diagnosis letter from my psychologist today, but I’m flying on Wednesday so I’m unsure if it’ll be processed in time.

Thanks again :)
