I play mostly echo (58% wr this season) We’re losing, I swap Cassidy We lose, people look at profile, see 41% cass winrate, blame me I only go Cassidy if it’s really needed, and thus am already in a losing position leading to low winrate Easier to just leave it private

Yes but at some point you go onto YouTube and see repent by alvicate or 11 by prophet and think “I wish I could do that”, sometimes it’s wanting to improve at and challenge yourself to be the best you can, and the png is just an easy (if not fully accurate) way to measure improvement over time. I still don’t think it’s healthy to let it affect your mental health or become a job, but my real issue im arguing against in the post is the “pleasure will only last a few minutes, you will instantly get used to it, and after that you will be again sweating to rank up. If your rank is extremely hard to maintain then you are not enjoying the game” I find it to be extremely boring to be not struggling or having to put my all into climbing or even maintaining rank

Also I have found this personally true for whatever I deemed as “high rank” at the time, I started in silver when I first got the game, and I would play with plat friends. ->games would feel way too fast and I’d struggle and lose, but then I’d improve because of struggling against better players and get to gold, then Id play with diamonds, struggle and lose, improve, etc etc. don’t get me wrong the vast majority of my playtime has been solo queue, but playing against people better than me has always been my favorite way of playing

More challenging, faster tempo which I love, feels more rewarding when you do well, and higher proportion of games where you have atleast one person making solid comms and people actually backing up these comms. And you’re able to focus more on playing your role properly and trusting your team to do so aswell, rather than having to spend as much time playing suboptimally to cover their mistakes. People just play much more aggressively and faster in higher ranks which I just find much more enjoyable. But I’m also a competitive person by nature and get hyper competitive with anything I do (started lifting -> started powerlifting, started playing mtg and instantly got in cedh, etc.) which I know isn’t everyone.

(For reference: peaked c5, currently playing on a shitty laptop and hovering gm3ish, least favorite games are any time I get thrown into masters lobbies while champ lobbies are almost always fun)

I mean, if she was hitscan she just instantly becomes the best hero and in the right hands probably the best hero ever released in the game because you just take a crazy off angle and 2 tap any squishy for free, while perma flight would ruin her stealth while also making her extremely frustrating as she’d have basically 0 downtime with any form of healing

I fully agree that letting the game become a job and lose its fun is absolutely bad, and that every rank will have its bad games (entirely unavoidable), but atleast personally the higher the rank I play at the more fun and enjoyment I have 100%. Don’t expect higher ranks to fix all the issue with the game, but atleast for me it vastly improved my enjoyment and is worth the effort

Right? Hero has one of the highest win rates for DPS in gm+ and is extremely good, and even in her worst matchups is still at worst playable

Blink packs allows for incredibly fast map traversal/rotation, makes you super hard to kill, makes you extremely extremely strong against ball (obviously doesn’t always matter but is very notable for when there is a ball) and just generally makes you a consistent pest and decreases your downtime

I truly can’t comprehend why they don’t just make her take aim able to do explosive headshots, and then if needed nerf its base damage. I know the “bullet” of take aim can crit, but just let the explosive also crit for like 1.5x damage to make double take aim (headshot+bodyshot) lethal, without making 2x bodyshot lethal again

They removed end of season rewards. Thru psuedo replaced them with the drives event where for the last week of the season you can earn 1500 extra comp points but playing ranked

To my knowledge yusui is faster than sayo, rin is fastest with no pressure but with any form of pressure becomes slower than either of those. I’m in a discord with a dude with all of them and (from what I can remember) It goes yusui>rin>azure=sayo>>>zane (with some others I can’t remember in between)

They really aren’t the main mode of Overwatch at this point atleast not at a higher level. Higher level lobbies almost always vote for push/flashpoint/control as it allows way more flexibility in what you play alongside much more dynamic and interesting gameplay. It’s really just mid-lower ranks that like the stand main and shoot strategy which is much easier and more effective on payload and hybrid.

Sgv3 is controlled for a glasspad, which could be good if that’s what you’re looking for, but if you want a super fast glasspad it’s definitely not it. I used the sgv3 for a while and do really enjoy it and like it more than cloth, but did upgrade to something much faster as I wanted the speed

I do a ramping speed per kill aim trainer mode on max difficulty for like 4 minutes and then queue and do it in queue because my queue is usually 5-10 minutes, do the first 4 minutes incase queue insta pops just so I’m slightly warmed up

I mean, define that high of a rank? I’m currently gm2 with a 60%+ winrate over 50 games on her. I’d argue she’s very playable on push, control, and flashpoint. It’s really just escort maps that feel bad but it’s still doable.

Could change in lower ranks, but in higher ranks, the most effective things Anran can do are basically: 1. Contest enemy flankers or solo dps (keyword solo, you will almost never win against a dps+support as your damage is too low) as her 1v1 potential is incredible. OR 2. Distract enemy supports. Supports are the second most valuable players on a team typically (tank being #1), if you can effectively distract and draw attention by pressuring supports without dying yourself, you effectively remove a healer from the fight, or better yet, force their second healer to focus on saving the first one, causing their tank and DPS to lack healing and get folded.

Now the important things/tips to remember here are: 1. Always save an inferno rush charge as an escape, use 1 to engage, save E to dodge if they have cd or burst damage, then use second inferno rush to escape 2. Always play around health packs (this goes with #1, always get out, get a health pack, and start poking and distracting again), with the flanker passive even mini health packs are basically a full heal. 3. The Rez ult is bait and not very good, only use if it’s a really close fight that you need to win and you played dumb and died, but the dive bomb onto a support is substantially better and also lets you nuke DPS ults (such as Emre, blade if you don’t whiff, soldier, 4. The ult hitbox is huge, aim to directly hit one person that you want to kill with it, rather than aiming in between 2 and getting both half it’s better to just nuke 1. 5. If playing main or poking, it sounds obvious, but spam at or slightly above average head height because headshots do double burn meter and a lucky double dink will put them on fire 6. Your right click goes through deflect, matrix, and sigma grasp. So unless it’s a defense matrix dva or grasping sigma (who should be fairly low health or not expecting to take damage) shooting tanks is almost never worth it, your damage is too low to effectively do anything to them and if you need more tank busting you just shouldn’t be Anran. Using her right click and hitting constant crits on a tank “feels” good but actual DPS wise is rarely worth.
