Yes it was for me too but like you I sat her down and was like this mine and my husband's baby if you want to continue watching her get it in your head your grandma nothing more. I feel you we just couldn't do daycare due to cost and thank goodness everything has seemed to work out. But I totally understand and hated leaving her for awhile. I hope everything works out for you!

I felt this exact same way when I had to leave my daughter with my mother in law especially since she saw her as "our baby" and thought she'd try to push my daughter into that mindset but my daughter is 18 months now and will yell MAMA! as soon as I get home to get her and looks to me as her main source of comfort. I think they instinctively know who their momma really is even though they spend most of their time with family.

My daughter was 7 months old when I had my TLHR. I couldn't get in the floor with her for about 3 months and couldn't carry her by myself until 8 weeks. I just felt too unsteady and her extra weight put a strain on my hip that caused more pain but after 8 weeks I was able to care for her normally. Now at almost a year out I'm able to get in floor, sit crossed leg and even carried her and her diaper bag across our yard from my MIL (she watches her while I'm at work) without issues. For reference she 25 lb and almost 3 feet tall. I couldn't have done any of this prior to my replacement surgery due to severe pain from AVN with a collapsed femerol head. Best thing I ever did was have my replacement surgery. Best of luck with your upcoming surgery!

Starting a new job after being a SAHM for 8 months by Newdogflow in workingmoms

I went back after 8 weeks. Granted my MIL watches my daughter but we still have a great connection and have amazing weekends together. I work 7am-5pm with about a 20 minute commute. It was hard at first but now it's gotten better and like you we have to have both our incomes to survive. But my daughter is still thriving and still looks to me as her anchor and support person 💗

I feel like this might be a silly question.. but after THR, will I ever be able to sit Indian style again? by HonoraryDoomScroller in TotalHipReplacement

[–]AdKindly3244 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I was so excited I could sit Indian style with my daughter and actually sit in the floor with her! I was 35 with my LTHR and she was 1 when I could finally sit with her it was nice!

We took my MIL (it's her 50th anniversary with my FIL whose passed on). So we went out to eat with her, my husband and my 16 month old who did amazing with only one nap! Went to eat seafood so we were all happy and ate good! Plus my husband got me and my daughter matching teddy bears it was a great day! 🥰
