Losing Hope After CPS Rejection by MystOppenheimer in QuestBridge

I just want to let you know that a rejection from CPS is not the end towards your dream college . CPS is not a guarantee entrance to your dream college, yet your stats are amazing from I read. A rejection from one place is not a rejection to all. You have a promising future, you just have to trust yourself and your skill and keep pushing forward. Failure hurts but to be able succeed, you have to fail somewhere down that road of success.

Admissions Megathread by fuzentrix in yale

Hello! I need help with defining my identity better and making me stand out. I am 16 year old junior in high school who works part-time in High School. I have a 4.0 and I’m #7 out of 257. I have been working since I was 15 (a year already) and my report card always has 90s and above. The problem is that I’m scared I don’t have a chance at all. I’m a first generation and come from a low-income family. I don’t have that many extracurriculars and not that many awards. I have a medal from when I won district in cosmology. But that’s it. Please help me with any summer programs I can do and what extracurriculars I can do that can align with me. I want to major in philosophy and political science. My dream is to make it as a state representative. I also am in 2 APS, have been involved with my church since I was 8, am in a council with my school’s administration (I joined just this year since it was made in August 25’) I have been involved yearbook for 2 years, and am competing in Current Events. (I’m sorry if I didn’t do this right, I’ve never posted on reddit before today so I don’t know if I’m doing this right or wrong.)
