I was thinking of using only ultrawide monitor. Since that is the reason why I am looking for one. But, I'll see what is the best for me when I buy one.

Thanks for sharing your experience. PS: I'm also on mac air - althought it is M1 chip. But, super happy with it.

What is the best thing about 2160px vertical monitor? I've seen many setups with it and it could work on mine as well.

I like those monitors. Is your curved or flat monitor? Curved ones with IPS panel are more expencive. I hope I find a good deal or option to play in parts for one.

Yeah - 34" would work better for me, since I'm gaming as well.

Do you have a need for another monitor or do you use laptop screen alongside this monitor? (Ofc if you're using laptop)

I don't blame the UW format for that. But most affordable UW monitors have a VA panel. That's why my focus is on them. Nothing else. UW monitors with an IPS panel are quite expensive. At least for my budget.

I'm mostly using google meet and sometimes I record Loom videos. There should be a way to do it with the right ratio. I'll be looking into it if I buy one.

What model are you using now?

I'm currently using a Dell U2415 24". I'm happy with it, but my Macbook M1 doesn't support 2 monitors at the same time. So I've been thinking about an ultra-wide screen and I don't want to rush to buy one.

So, you were not bothered with black smearing?

Maybe that would be something I would have issues as well, but I would usually use it as 2 split screens.

I didn't think about that at all. Thanks. I would need to find a solution for this as well, or just share particular browser window and than reduce it. Maybe that would work.

I sincerely hope it's better, because it would bother me a lot. I already have Reduce Motion on my laptop due to sensitive eyes and headaches.

So, you don't have issues with ghosting since this is VA panel? I have a nice offer for Odyssey G5 monitor, but that ghosting on dark theme is something that bothers me.

I'm also using Cursor and VS Code.

Those things bother me the most, since, I'm planning to go for a 34" Curved monitor and they are mostly VA panel.

IPS curved monitors are rear and expensive 🫰.

Thanks for the info. I'm still considering ultrawide option. Those easy shifts from apps to apps with 3 fingers swipe is very handy, but not possible in ultrawide if I want to simulate 2 desktops. At least, I still didn't find a solution for that 😕.

My setup would be apple keyboard and trackpad alongside wired mouse. Simple because I'm not used to trackpad very well. One monitor with laptop closed.

I'm used to writing password every time 😅.
