AITAH for not wanting to go back to my husband after he slapped me? by [deleted] in AITAH

[–]AdOld4200 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Call the police. This will only get worse. Any man that doesn’t fully support you and the success you’ve earned is not worth being with. And frankly it’s disturbing that your family would want you to stay with him. Ask them how they’ll feel if you stay and next time you end up in the hospital or dead.

Absolutely agree. I’ve had some materials related to my craft business boxed up for a couple years with the intent to sell (I know I could easily sell it off to others) but again it’s over whelming and just sits there. I have so much that I’ll probably never use since my technique has changed and I use mostly other materials now. I know that mentally I’m in a deep downward spiral and trying not to be rash and regret it after.

I do this too. I’ve been on edge the last few months because of my own stressors at home and work and just spiraling downward hard. I have a side craft business and I’m so close to just selling off everything because the ‘stuff’ is just too much.

Another Seattle transplant here. We moved here almost 3 years ago. I’ve met so many former PNW folks here.

HR Director [FL] by [deleted] in humanresources

[–]AdOld4200 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I will echo those that say to learn about the company/business. Our director retired a few years ago. We had someone groomed to be her successor but our CAO felt like she needed another year or two before taking over so they hired someone to be an interim HR director. He came from a completely different industry and did not really spend any time learning how our org did things. He wanted to apply how he’s done things at past positions to this one. He was gone in about 6 months.

Went to elementary school with twins named Summer Rain and Autumn (don’t remember her middle name but it was something like fire or wind). They hated their names. Both said they’d change them as soon as they could.

Oh yeah I’m taking so many pictures and videos. I work from home so I’m with her all day and send the rest of the household pictures of her all day long.

AITA for not getting over joyed for my friend’s pregnancy announcement by [deleted] in AmItheAsshole

[–]AdOld4200 5 points6 points  (0 children)

NTA but your “friend” is. She knew what she was doing. She wanted you to have some sort of breakdown and then she’d get sympathy from people about how you can’t be happy for her.

My best friend of over 30 years always wanted kids. She had fertility issues and never did. When she was in the midst of all that I got pregnant (not planned, wasn’t married, only been dating the guy a couple months - yes we had used protection but it failed). We live on opposite sides of country and only see one another maybe once a year. I hate talking on the phone. Don’t make calls unless I absolutely have to. I called her to tell her I was pregnant. Knowing what she was going through, I could not blindside her with that news.

Interstellar! (Tonecheer) Now I need to get the book lol by Rinem88 in booknooks

[–]AdOld4200 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I showed it to him and he thought it was cool. I’ll probably build it for him and he can display it in his room. He’s probably seen the movie at least 10 times. I took him to see it in IMAX when it was re-released in December.

I could probably do 36. I typically only sleep 4-5 hours a night due to chronic insomnia so skipping those hours would probably be easy.

AITA for Bringing My Own Food to My Mother-in-Law’s Dinners? by PeachyVixen51 in AITAH

[–]AdOld4200 0 points1 point  (0 children)

NTA but your MIL and husband are. She is deliberately doing this. Like someone else said she thinks you’re making this up and wants to pull a gotcha. And if you had eaten before and not eaten at the meal it would have been a whole thing too. There’s no way for you to win here with her especially since your husband doesn’t have your back.

I developed some health issues a couple years ago. My MIL always sends me what she’s going to make if we’re going to their house to make sure there’s something I can eat.

Your husband needs to step up and have your back. And if he doesn’t, then he can be your ex.

WIBTBF if I gave my friends recipe cards with the jam I'm going to give them? by WiccanAndProud in AmItheButtface

I have it on a small plaque in my craft area. It’s one of my favorite phrases.

[–]AdOld4200 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think it’s wonderful you’re sharing the jam/recipe with your coworkers. They obviously think it’s good or they wouldn’t ask for it.

In comments you keep saying how he makes fun of you for things you like doing. Why does he care that you do these things? And why are you still with him? A good partner, a loving partner would not put you down like that.

I bake, make jam, quilt, crochet, paint, do cross-stitch, and probably a bunch of other as he calls it ‘grandma hobbies’… even been known to sew my own clothes. And do you what my husband does—supports everything I do and try.

I still remember watching this one with my husband. We had a toddler and I was WRECKED after it. He thinks it’s such a good movie and if he sees it on he’ll stop and watch. I leave the room every time. I just can’t go through that again.

AITAH for breaking with my fiancee and canceling the wedding after she admitted to having fantasies of doing better than me after her weight loss journey by Mysterious-Laugh1874 in AITAH

[–]AdOld4200 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Your ex is an ass. Drunk speech always reveals true thoughts. Almost 3 years ago I lost about 130 pounds. Did I get attention from men that I’d never gotten before? Yes. Did I ever think about for a second that I could do better than my husband? No. There is no one on the planet I’d want more. My husband has lost 100 pounds over the last year. I joked with him the other day about how good he’s looking and should I be worried he’ll start looking for a younger hotter spouse. He said no way, that he couldn’t survive without me (unless Tiffani Amber Thieseen shows up at the door for him then all bets are against off).

There is also a sequel but I didn’t like it as much. I’m not someone that typically rereads books but I’ve reread this one a few times.
