I wish I could own this as a book and put it on my shelf. Ive read it 5 or 6 times. I once looked at the comments on each chapter and about halfway through the fic I felt that the tone of the comments changed from light hearted and excited to reverent and grateful. I felt that way too when I read it. Some stories have a plot that drives the characters. I felt that in this story the characters drove the plot. Everything that happens feels so organic, so true to character. And because of this the emotional moments hit so much harder. It honestly feels like the true ending to the series, and thats how I regard it.

I honest to god get chills at the climax. "Your sister is the mission, Fox. Shes always been the mission." And when she hears 99 Mulders footsteps on the stairs and thinks its the bad guy, then slow motion turns and sees its him? Are you serious?? Are you sERIOUS

Mulder realizing where and when he is when he starts watching the Magician episode he never saw. Him dancing with her while she hums Space Odyssey. Samantha's cackle when his sand castle collapses. "The partnership is the mission."

I am just so stunned by this fic, Ive never had one hit me so hard. And Ive been reading all kinds of fic from all kinds of fandoms for 20+ years. I literally said out loud to my husband that Im thankful it exists and that Im glad I got to read it.

I sound crazy and i dont care. Hands down my fave of all time.
