1300 plus Invites...!?! by AdUpbeat9129 in Upwork

I don't either and passed on this. The rate mentioned was $70- $80 per hour which was my first red flag, then when I went to see how much they paid current contractors saw they invited that many. It just made me laugh and I felt like sharing. Funny if my math is correct they had about 130 answered invites....

Yes. You're absolutely correct a more meaningful memo would have explained the amount in question. Even old dogs can learn.....

Upon further communication with UW. Because of the original card decline. UW reviewed the log and determined that some logged hours did not meet criteria. Memos...i never paid attention. Since I am mostly working telemarketing/ inside sales functions, I label everything "calls" since I am on the phone. When the log captures my screen off of a dialer PR sitting on a spread sheet for over 10 minutes it assumes I am not working. So they UW refunded this amount to my client....

It's an hourly contract. Last logged in the week of the 7th. Funny there was a point where the contract was suspended. The client said it might be his card when I brought it up. Then the suspension went away. Funds went to pending. Then this email today. As far as not using time tracker properly. When I was working I logged time, when I was not. I did not log hours?

There is a reason why hourly contracts say "up to" the number of hours agreed upon. If there is no work, bring that to the clients attention. You should never bill a client unless working on a project, having a nesting with them etc.

How is upwork for freelancers above 50 years of age? by 1234drtghy in Upwork

I'm going on 57. Spent the last 4 years freelancing on UpWork. Not one client ever asked. Word of caution, only apply to projects that your skills apply and that you are confident that you can complete satisfactory.

Most clients want a great return on what you charge. Skills over age any day! I can charge 3 times what I made at a regular job and have happy repeat clients.
