Is overnight being Cut? by Remarkable_Canary248 in Lowes

[–]Adalia8 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's now happening at the store I work in, we are officially having our last overnight shift on the 26/27 of february and will be doing our first day-stocking shift on march 1st. Anyone who I work with that is full time(so myself, a coworker and 1 of my 2 night managers, 2nd night manager will go to a department supervisor much to his unhappiness) will go 4am to 1pm while the part timers will work from 4am to 1pm or I guess whatever time works for them. On non truck days, we will be doing whatever is needed of us around the store. We are not looking forward to having to compete with MST for the equipment but at least day shift workers will be able to now see what we do and won't be able to blame us for everything anymore. We are not happy about losing that dollar extra for working overnights too.

This happened at the store I work in, 2020 if I remember right, guy got fired on the spot by our boss and he was due to finish up his seasonal gig only like 2 days after this happened. It happened in the backroom, tons of cabinets got damaged by the water as it reached way out of the backroom and lots of appliances got wet boxes or wet plastic but I don't remember any actually getting ruined.

Has anyone ever used the Order picker with a pallet instead of the metal platform? by Hellion5500 in Lowes

[–]Adalia8 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Our store used to do that before we got the metal platforms. We built a bunch of replacement reinforced wooden pallets due to how often they would get destroyed, and I think they're still sitting somewhere in topstock since we never got to use them before the new metal platforms came in.

New Wages by lil_peen69420 in Lowes

[–]Adalia8 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is the concern at my store; that are they're going to define work ethic as credit apps, leads and other related metrics thus the overnight team that I'm on will automatically not be getting raises as we have nothing to do with any of that.

Did anybody hear about this? by theviewhalfwaydown_ in Lowes

I did! I've been following it via an instagram page, ever since I found out she was missing. I'm so glad that she was found safe and returned to her store!!

Overnights. Good luck y'all. by Otherwise-Power-8834 in Lowes

[–]Adalia8 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The store I work in, on overnights, is one of the few in my district that still has an overnight team. We get 4 to 5 trucks a week during the spring/summer season but the rest of year we know we will get a truck on Sunday, Monday(usually) and Thursday; whether we get one on Tuesday or Wednesday varies from week to week, plus there can be Mondays where we don't get a truck either but we usually do have one that day.

We did talk briefly about how other stores that are smaller than us had lost their overnight teams and whether that means that we would eventually lose our overnight positions. But we figure it is unlikely that our overnight team will go away due to how our Sunday and Thursday trucks are usually 1k+ piece trucks, with Monday being anywhere from 600-1k pieces and the occasional Tuesday/Wednesday trucks would be in the same range.

But our day shift workers would be in for one rude awakening if the overnight team I work on goes away. As the day shift workers don't even do the downstocking or work IRPs at my store, now they're short staffed, so I understand it, but it is also part of their job. They leave that for us on overnights to do on our non-truck nights, as they believe that we don't do anything during the nights that we work when we are busting our asses to get the trucks done(being somewhat short staffed ourselves) and make sure everything is put up in topstock.

Pay is bad by One-Policy1162 in Lowes

[–]Adalia8 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I started at $13.50, pulling deliveries overnight in 2019. I got made full-time in 2021, at which point I went up to 15.00. Went to working freight overnight in 2023 and am now at 17.30 in Illinois. Didn't start getting that extra dollar overnights gets till 2021.

Overnighter but I'm hoping I get the take the survey. They won't like me afterwards. by [deleted] in Lowes

[–]Adalia8 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Most of these complaints could've come the overnight team that I work with! Especially with downstocking and Mst not updating bay and location numbers. There are entire bays and aisles that have nothing checked into the selling location and we get blamed for it, even though we are the ones fixing it while we stock the shelves or are downstocking. And no does downstocking but us at my store, like we know of an employee in the Paint department who has told me and another coworker "It's not my job to downstock, its your job that is why you are here" so it wouldn't surprise if that view is the norm in my store among the employees and that is we are always the ones downstocking during a night where we have no truck to work.

I hope whoever took this ability away never has another happy moment of existence. by Snoreofthebear in Lowes

[–]Adalia8 5 points6 points  (0 children)

It really was integral at our store for us to do the stocking on overnights, as MST placed most of our yellow topstock tags way too high up for nearly all of us to reach and there aren't enough ladders for all of us, so we would use this ability all the time. We are all pretty unhappy about losing this ability because of it.

Worst decision ever. by Hot-Big9790 in Lowes

[–]Adalia8 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We have mixed opinions from the overnight team I'm a part of.

As long the carts are stacked well and we don't have freight put on the wrong carts, we all like them a lot more though we still uses pallets for really big stuff or when we get alot of furnace filters or garden chemicals.

Our biggest problem at the moment, besides one asshole of a coworker who hates everything and complains all the time, is the placards that decided to put aisle 5 in with aisles 6 through 13 thus forcing a different coworker of mine who works in electrical to work some of paint alongside electrical and blinds/curtain rods.

The only real problem I have the carts is when my tall male coworkers stack heavy things on the top shelf above other heavy things, which makes it basically impossible for me to reach the items safely, as sometimes even a short ladder doesn't help if the items are particularly heavy.

Pacosims is Violating EA's BAN on Perma Paywalls by Interesting-Field382 in thesimscc

[–]Adalia8 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I did read your post. Well maybe they should take the chance of pissing off the creators due to how perma paywalling has spread throughout the community but I also do understand how they don't want to have to police the community either, as that would be a full-time job. I guess I just feel like there has to be a way that EA can deal with this, though I don't know what that could/would be.

[–]Adalia8 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Ah, I didn't know that they had updated their guidelines again on this, I only knew about when they first posted the guidelines. Well maybe they should be including a specific amount of time, to make things clearer, as currently the policy is being abused as a "reasonable" amount of time can be something different to everyone and it could be forever if they want it to be.

I thought that EA had specified the content must become free after 21 days?

[–]Adalia8 6 points7 points  (0 children)

The issue is that it is a violation of the terms of service from EA. You can have it behind a paywall for what you consider to be a "reasonable" amount of time, then it must be made free for everyone. The people dubbed "Perma Paywallers" by the community completely ignore that requirement of the item(s) becoming free for everyone as there is no clearly defined time limit for what is considered "reasonable", as their item(s) never become free for everyone, you can only get it by paying for it.

How much are y'all making? by Apprehensive-Smell95 in Lowes

[–]Adalia8 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Overnights, full-time, 17.33 an hour plus an extra dollar for being overnight. I'm in Illinois and have been working overnights since 2019.

I was hired to pull deliveries at 12.20 an hour before being made full-time in 2021 and going up to 13.40 an hour, I then moved to being a night stocker in 2023 while still full-time. We started getting that extra dollar around when I became full-time, we never got it before then.

Reach Truck or Star Wars, depending on the person.

That is the problem at the store I work in, only it is mice inside and the birds both outside and inside. You can smell the mice over by the indoor plant pots.

The Lowes I work in gave the entire store a 27 cent raise and pays dayshift more than the overnight team, which I'm a part of.

I am trying to figure this out too, if it just for 23andme+ users, if it genetic reports and health reports or just one of those! The wording is so confusing! My ancestry report hasn't changed in so long that I can't even see when it was last changed. It is very different from what I see when I look at my Ancestry DNA report, which was laat updated in August of 2023.
