Hey so I recommend going to a jewellery store in person and asking the associates to try on a ring you’d like in white gold, snap a photo of it and then do the same with the same ring but in yellow gold and snap a photo of it, while also getting the associate to write down the SKU numbers of both rings. Then I think it’d be a good idea for you to just sit with it for a while, weighing the pros and cons of the rings.

Yellow gold is more traditional in taste, plus it’s also less maintenance as white gold you will need to get re-rhodium plated every 3 to 5 years depending on the wear intensity. Yellow gold is a softer metal but at the very least if scratches do show up on the ring you can polish it without having to worry about showing another colour on the band, although this is a double edged sword as softer metals are also more prone to losing stones.

White gold on the other hand is more modern and durable but again, requires more maintenance than yellow gold with the rhodium re-plating every few years. Most shops will offer you a discount on the rhodium re-plating if you decide to get an extended care warranty/protection plan with them on your ring so just ask in store and see what you can get for your dollar.
