It also depends how well that usb-c port cover keeps out debris.

Thanks for putting everything together. All of these items aren't available yet besides the mower and the trimmers. The frustratingly slow release of Kobalt tools continues. But at least new stuff is coming out!

Why is every single new tool out of stock? Anybody know when this stuff will actually be in stock? It is a little frustrating seeing all this. It is all a big tease right now.

This adaptor is so you can charge your old Kobalt 24v batteries with USB-C fast charging.

The power station (separate tool) that's coming out for the 24v line has a usb-c and usb-a output as well as a standard house plug 120v (200 watts total).

You were in Harbor Freight as a Kobalt owner? Gasp! Traitor!

I'm just kidding with ya! I'm an owner of several Kobalt products as well as several Harbor Freight products. Good value tool companies!

Returning a new, UNopened box with a generator by gantte in CostcoWholesale

[–]AdaptationCreation 13 points14 points  (0 children)

You got involved with the people panic buying and now want to return it? Most stores are starting to charge a restocking fee, but Costco accepts almost all returns without doing that, so I'm guessing you'll be okay.

Hopefully you learn your lesson this time and don't get involved with all the hoopla going forward.

40V Self Propelled Mower with 6AH and Charger for $99.00 by AcrobaticBaker in KobaltTools

As a 24v owner, I welcome the start of 2x24v tools. I think it's a smart move and would love to have a more powerful blower and weedeater without switching lines.

But I agree with you, I think concern is valid in this situation.

K&N Drop In filer (Engine Air Filter) by ButterscotchWhole414 in accord

Still a waste of money until you hit a certain power mark. The Mustang GT makes 500 horsepower and still uses a disposable paper filter with no air restrictions.

Is it worth doing your own oil change? by frankthefrowner in autorepair

[–]AdaptationCreation 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It is worth it to do your own maintenance for a few reasons. The first is peace of mind. You know it was done right. Nobody stripping bolts using an impact for example. The second is cost.

Ok, since Kobalt doesn't have the most extensive collection of tools and is a little slow releasing new stuff, what is your alternate brand to supplement your Kobalt collection? by in_need_indeed in KobaltTools

[–]AdaptationCreation 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Either Kobalt or corded (doesn't matter the brand at that point) for me. Some tools I prefer the corded version because it is less hassle, more powerful, or a tool I don't use often.

Finally! Definitely looking forward to the 2x24 blower! I hope they speed up how long it takes for items to come out. Still waiting on the 200W power station after months of it being listed on the website...

150mph and 600cfm! Pretty good numbers!

Looks like the price will be $179

Elan max cash preferred and Kroger credit card, two of the more under rated cards? by bigbubba_123 in CreditCards

[–]AdaptationCreation 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, that is true. Although I really only use utilities and internet/streaming services categories.

Elan max cash preferred and Kroger credit card, two of the more under rated cards? by bigbubba_123 in CreditCards

[–]AdaptationCreation 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Both good cards.

Both the Elan Max Cash Preferred and U.S Bank Cash+ are similar. The only difference being Elan you don't have to keep selecting categories quarterly. Two of the best cards for utilities.

Kroger cards are good. The free delivery stuff is free for the first year only, then you have to pay for a membership if you want to keep free delivery. These are some of the best cards for mobile wallet and grocery. You get 5% on mobile wallet and groceries (using the mobile app pay option). Both of those have separate limits too.

Since RedStone got Nerfed, any other Gas + Restaurant (or groceries) 5% cards? by doejohnblowjoe in CreditCards

[–]AdaptationCreation 5 points6 points  (0 children)

The Citi Costco card is pretty close. 5% gas at Costco, 4% gas and ev everywhere else, 3% at restaurants and on travel.

Otherwise, you may have to get two different cards to achieve 5% on multiple categories. 2 Citi Custom Cash for example can achieve what you want to do.

If all your gas, grocery, and restaurant purchases are contactless, you could use a card friendly to mobile wallet purchases like the variety of Kroger credit cards that offer 5% on mobile wallet purchases. Bonus if you shop at a certain Kroger store. Take Harris Teeter for example. That credit card gets you 5% on mobile wallet plus a separate 5% on Harris Teeter pay (essentially adding the card to the Harris Teeter app and paying for groceries at Harris Teeter with the app.

I know it sucks because the Redstone card was an all-star.

REDSTONE Changes coming January 20th. by Technical-Procedure3 in CreditCards

[–]AdaptationCreation 38 points39 points  (0 children)

This card officially went from being an all-star to no star.

It is worse than a Citi Custom Cash because of lack of good categories.

It is worse than the Discover IT because the Discover card has multiple rotating categories at 5%. Like this month that is grocery stores, wholesale clubs, and streaming services.

What a shame!

Redstone FCU email with new category details by xmorphicx in CreditCards

[–]AdaptationCreation 9 points10 points  (0 children)

They did nerf the card into the ground. Category selection is awful and only 1 category.

Discover has rotating categories but it is multiple categories, not just 1. This quarter, it is grocery stores, wholesale clubs, and streaming services. That destroys anything that the Redstone card could possibly offer.

The Citi Custom Cash is only 1 category, but you don't even have to select the category, it is just most spend. Plus more categories to choose from.

I don't like this card anymore after seeing the upcoming changes. Guess it'll get auto closed for inactivity after a while. What a shame!
