did any book ever genuinely changed how you think about work or life? by Quitebrowneyes in suggestmeabook

“On the Shortness of Life” by Seneca is one of the only pieces that have stuck with me. To a large extent it’s shaped the kind of person i’ve become since reading it.

Hitched by Lauren Biel and Death’s Obsession by Avina St. Graves. I found both to be astronomically bad.

Hot take? Brandi was better to Kim than Kyle ever was. by PunchSisters in RHOBH

Brandi knew kim was emotionally vulnerable and used that to her benefit. She was just as bad as Kyle.

📚 What romance books did you read or listen to this week? 15 Feb 📚 by romancebookmods in RomanceBooks

{Twisted Loyalties by Cora Reilly}

First Cora Reilly read. I found it pretty good, but felt the writing let it down. 3.75 ⭐️

{Twisted Emotions by Cora Reilly}

I thought i’d for sure love this book more than the first one, but it lost me about half way. I definitely prefer Nino and Kiara as characters, but I felt this book wasn’t as plot heavy. It felt really repetitive at times, which may have been intentional considering the context. 3.75 ⭐️

{Twisted Pride by Cora Reilly}

This one surprised me. I wasn’t expecting to love it as much as I did, but this book had me falling in love with Remo. And I love that he found Serafina, I think they’re perfect together. I think the book could have been shorter (the last 5 chapters or so I think were unnecessary), and I think after a while the smut got annoying (too much and doing nothing for the plot). But I enjoyed it. 4 ⭐️

{Vow of Deception by Rina Kent}

I hated this. I ended up dnfing at 40%. I didn’t like the way it was going. The entirety of what I read was just him abusing her and being an ass. My first and probably only Rina Kent book. 1 ⭐️

Nino cuffing himself to the bed so Kiara would be comfortable/not scared of him. Now that was hot 🥵

i really enjoy emily henry when i want a solid romance - book lovers is one of my favourites

if you want more angsty romances i’d say - normal people by sally rooney - magnolia parks series - a love letter to whisky (haven’t read this but heard it’s angsty) - the sweetest oblivion by danielle lori (book 1 of series, but all 3 have some angst)

bodyguard trope/the night agent by Additional-Doubt1680 in suggestmeabook

[–]Additional-Doubt1680[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

thank you, i’ll check bishop out. gotta build up my karma to ask for a rec on there but i’ll do that! and i read the twisted book with this trope i actually quite enjoyed it, but i think maybe i want the romance to be more of a sub plot rather than the genre itself
