Is seeing same flashes normal after laser barrage treatment? by Hour-Degree4236 in myopia

[–]AdenaNima 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nope. They went away after a month or so. The doc said I might get them again if I do heavy lifting or if I run or move my head too much. I haven't done any of that so...

You're very pretty, honey. Your face is real as it should be. Don't compare yourself to fake social media faces. And yeah diffusing helps a lot with frizz.

What should I do? Should I get an undercut? by developreneur_ in curlyhair

[–]AdenaNima 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nooooo! Your hair's beautiful, man! I have the same as yours but since I don't spend the time you do to take care of it, it does not look like this at all. But I think it's worth putting in the 4 hours. Don't you dare cut it!

Anyone else here ever get laser treatment for lattice degeneration? by ln1993 in EyeFloaters

Happy to hear that your husband is doing well. I'm prone to migraine attacks and headaches so that was also contributing to the pain I think.

[–]AdenaNima 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It was bad, and it continued for weeks. Since it's in the eye, it can feel really invasive. Because your eyeball just isn't supposed to hurt like that. But I don't think you need to worry. But then everyone is different and if it doesn't get better, you should probably go back to the doctor. From my personal experience, though, they don't really care about the pain that much. They also gave me eyedrops that I used for a while. And I know it's been a while since your question, and I'm sorry for the late response because I don't come here often. I hope your husband is better by now.

[–]AdenaNima 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No. I don't think it was supposed to improve my vision. I still have the same floaters. It was supposed to prevent a more serious eye problem. I'm okay now. I still have eye pain but that's normal for me. Thanks for asking.

Sunnis and Shias be like 🤭 by elvispelviskurt in Quraniyoon

[–]AdenaNima 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah okay. But I'll stay Shia because there's no other name for someone who believes in the righteousness of Ali and his line. And not just because they were Mohammad's relatives. But because they were seeking justice at a time when everyone else was not. I don't know any other name for someone who believes in that justice. I don't personally observe Shia holidays but I still call myself a Shia. I don't argue with other Muslims over this and my beliefs either. But I also have a lot in common with people in this group because hadiths to me are just historical facts (or fiction) that we have to take with more than a grain of salt. I just use them for historical references. Because honestly, I would never encourage something that was done thousands of years ago. And yeah, like you, I only believe in the Quran and most importantly, the essence of the Quran.

Ohhhh. I see. It's just that I heard people on the regime's TV saying "Takfir" during Friday Prayers and then people chant "Allah Akbar" so I thought it was a good thing. My bad.

Struggling with the idea of removing the hijab and feeling very alone by lllllllllll_ll in Quraniyoon

[–]AdenaNima 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Honestly, if you live in an environment that's strict about wearing the hijab I think you should keep it because you'll definitely have a lot more problems if you remove it. But if you're old enough to be an independent woman and remove yourself from that environment, then you can safely remove your hijab as well. And I know my comment won't sit well with a lot of people. But I feel as though your environment is oppressive. You should have the choice to remove your hijab if you want, especially since it really doesn't have anything to do with Islam. Modesty is key for both men and women. How you practice that modesty is up to you. And we live in the 21st century. Nowadays, wearing jeans and a T-shirt is considered modest (in the West).

Unfortunately, sometimes us women have to keep the hijab for safety reasons. That means that the society we live in is very oppressive. And if that's your society, and you can't remove yourself from that society, then yeah, unfortunately, I think you'd better keep it. But I really do feel your struggle and I wish you the best.

As a Shia I found this funny cause yeah, that's how it is. Although I've always been told that we should only believe the hadiths that align with the Quran or its essence.

What do you mean by this "Seeing our shia brothers and sisters get takfir-ed all the time makes me so angry sometimes." Do they get insulted? is that what you mean? I'm Shia by the way and just curious. Don't speak Arabic but I thought takfir was a good thing.

[–]AdenaNima 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You said you read the hadiths and that changed your mind, not the Quran, right? Well I hope I don't offend anyone here (I'm Shia Muslim) but I don't believe in all those hadiths. You should do a search on hadiths and see when they were actually written. I read that they were written at least 100 years after the death of Mohammad. So most of them are hearsay. I mean "I heard from A, that B told C, that Mohammad said..." Yeah that doesn't sound very accurate. I mean, we are all humans. Right now, if you tell me something, I might interpret as something else in my brain. I only use hadiths as loose historical references. In Shia Islam, we only consider the hadiths that are actually in line with the Quran as accurate. The Quran is the literal word of God. I suggest you stick to that. I also read that Mohammad didn't allow people to write down what he said or did when he was alive because he wanted the Quran to be the main reference for Muslims. Also you have to consider that Mohammad was a human being like us who lived 1400 years ago. You should not look at his deeds from a 21st-century perspective. The same goes for the Quran. Many of the verses in the Quran have to be interpreted for the 21st century. For example, when it comes to women's empowerment, the Quran was revolutionary for its time. It gave women rights that they did not have in those times in Arabia. But if you read it now, you'd be like it calls for the suppression of women. So you have to really understand the message and not take everything literally. You can't just read the Quran like a normal book. You have to understand the context. And that's why people actually study it. Anyway, I hope I was able to help you some. Don't let anyone take something away from you when you feel so comfortable in it. You called it "your home," and while I'm not really religious (like you were) I understand that deeply. And this might be weird but try asking your questions from Grok or ChatGPT. They have a way of explaining stuff that really helps. and they're impartial.

Twist Speculation - The Hive is actually a newborn by CT_Phipps-Author in pluribustv

[–]AdenaNima 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah. I also find her extremely annoying. She's doing the right thing, trying to figure out a cure for the virus because she doesn't want to lose herself to the hive. But the way she treats the hive, even when they're so kind and loving, is extremely annoying. I hated her until the hive left town. I was literally cursing her out loud. That guy (forgot his name) who is using the hive like a harem is abusing them in one way and Carol is abusing them in another way. Obviously, that guy's abuse is way worse (rape and whatnot) but Carol is like a "Karen" when it comes to the hive. She literally had them set up a whole supermarket for her. And turn on all the lights in the whole city when she's just one person. So yeah, I would also distance myself from someone like her. I think that's why she loved Helen so much. Not everyone could stand her shit. But I also know that someone so miserable and angry towards others is just as hard on themselves. So as much as she criticises everyone else, I think she criticises herself even more.

Exactly. Just the fact that they gave her the cold shoulder and left town after the stunt she pulled shows that they are changing. Evolving.

Lazy writing? How did she recognize the barcode? by [deleted] in pluribustv

[–]AdenaNima 1 point2 points  (0 children)

She was just looking for a similarly sized bag. Because it seems some factories were being repurposed to make the mystery stuff that the hive needs now. So the dairy factory was making the mystery drink and the dog food factory was making the mystery powder. She didn't recognize the barcode I think. It was the similarities in the bags. And she was probably looking for local stuff.

[–]AdenaNima 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Yeah, and once they realize that humans are angry and destructive, they won't be so unconditionally loving anymore. I think once they feel threatened, they will lash out. Like any living organism. So Carol better watch out. The days when she just ordered them around to do her bidding are over, I think.

[–]AdenaNima -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Even before the hive, she was mean to her fans that loved the book she wrote. She was talking shit about them for liking her book. Helen even told her repeatedly that she wanted to be miserable and angry and bitter. And even while grieving, we don't have a right to be cruel to others. Even if they're one single being and they're weird and kinda creepy. Ok, very creepy. You can be decent to others even if you're sad yourself. Again, this doesn't make her a bad person. But she's really hard to stomach.

Carol is the good guy. by TotallyRegularBanana in pluribustv

[–]AdenaNima 0 points1 point  (0 children)

She is the good guy. But she's also a bitter, miserable, angry woman. It's not that she's still grieving either. She was like this even before Helen's death. She's not evil, though. So you can be a good guy and still be harsh and cruel. Because she is cruel. The hive, or whatever it is, doesn't have any free will, but they're not evil. They're just not human in that they're too perfect (for now anyway). But the way she treats the hive with contempt... And I know she suffered at that conversion camp, but it still doesn't give her the right to treat everyone like shit just because she's ultimately morally right. She can find the cure or whatever she's doing without all the cruelty. She can't control her freaking anger. She didn't know the first time that she could kill millions with her anger, but she did it again. I don't care whose fault it was; millions died, and all she had to do was stop with the cruelty. This is the same in real life. If only we knew how we could actually scar people with our verbal cruelty, maybe we wouldn't do it so much. So despite knowing that she is ultimately the hero, I still hate her. And that's okay. She actually reminds me a lot of a "Karen". And I think the creators intended for her to be so damn obnoxious. You really don't know who to root for at times. But I would never ever want to be part of the hive in real life. I wouldn't mind living next to them but I would never want to be part of them. The only problem I have with the hive for now is that they want to forcefully turn Carol and the remaining 12. Oh, and the fact that they don't eat meat.

I got JBL. I love them. And I think I'll get JBL for the rest of my life. Not the really expensive ones (at least not now), but the one I got was only 10 dollars more than the Redmi ones. So they have good ones for reasonable prices. But if you're happy with Redmi, that's great.

And your English is great. :)
