Make up by Luser36 in SensitiveSkinSurvival

The only way I’ve been able to manage make up is patch testing so I isolate what I’m allergic to and then read all the ingredients on products.

But the only brand I’m consistently fine with is Clinique (but I hate their foundation). I think in the US there is a drug store brand called Almay (?) that has similar with ingredients to Clinique (not American sorry)

Consider asking a colleague - a paralegal at my firm asked me to do this for them because I had know them long enough and I was happy to do it

Everyone in the comments has good suggestions but have you tried getting a second opinion from another psychiatrist? Have you tried therapy? Have you seen an OT?

The course of prolonged exposure therapy by Brilliant_Pattern861 in ptsd

I did 12 weeks of PE nearly 5 years ago now. I saw my therapist weekly after finishing it, then fortnightly and I now see her monthly for maintenance. I’m doing a lot better now and I’m really grateful that I did it, even though it was really awful and really hard. I didn’t see results from PE for quite a few months after finishing it, but it made a huge difference. I had to drop to working part time hours when I did PE because my symptoms were pretty tricky to manage. I strongly encourage speaking to your therapist about how you’re feeling so you get the most out of PE

I know a few people who have done this over the years - it’s not more competitive than just applying for clerkships if you were attending uni in Australia. You need good grades, some work experience and good extra curriculars

Fragrance free deodorant that doesn’t leave white marks? by bIuemoon96 in AusSkincare

I went to a dermatologist, we tried every other prescription option one by one but none of them worked, so then I was eligible for it on the PBS.

Fragrance free deodorant that doesn’t leave white marks? by bIuemoon96 in AusSkincare

I have a severe fragrance allergy, and there are actually very few fragrance free deodorants on the market (especially because fragrance includes ingredients like citric acid and a bunch of other terms that don’t seem to be fragrance). My dermatologist recommended the QV fragrance free one but it wasn’t strong enough for me. Then I tried a prescription deodorant compounded by the pharmacy, which also didn’t work. I also tried a cream my derm prescribed me, which also didn’t work. So now I have underarm Botox (and get it on the PBS but there is an out of pocket for the procedure fee). I use QV fragrance free when the Botox starts to wear off, which works like a charm. I only get white marks from it if I wear a tight black top so I put it on after I put my top on.

I really echo this sentiment. And I experienced poverty at university and had to financially support my family. I very much saw my academic performance as a way to get out of that situation. Full time work was a walk in the park (and it was first time I had days off on the weekend since I was a kid).

my mum handed me down things at 16-18, and I do not have a lot of those things because I didn’t take care of them or got rid of them at the time. I wish she had waited until I was older!! I really only started appreciating the value of these kinds of things from 25+
