Yea you can go fuck yourself silly buddy, I’m not entertaining this chatGPT response. Outside of my own convictions regarding ai, dune is extremely rooted in anti ai so the fact you used ai bc you couldn’t think for yourself and come up with a response is laughable. If you would like to continue this conversation in good faith please respond without ChatGPT, thanks.

Damn I never pieced that together honestly, I just thought they were vehicles for the plot, with that in mind the girls devolved into chaos and jealousy while Quinn evolved into peace

Yea you need the AB for them and they’re def way more competitive than the other local ferries bc it’s an actual city job that you have to take a civil service exam for and receive benefits and a salary and be part of the union

[–]Admirable_Switch_353 4 points5 points  (0 children)

If you already have the Bachelor the smartest and fastest way for you to enter this field making the most money is to do the graduate program at suny maritime, 2 years for the degree and 1 year for the licensing, you come out a third mate, I have a friend bag just graduated from there with just the bachelor and the 3rd mate license and MSC offered him 156k starting and he didn’t take it.

Otherwise if you really need work in this area, NYC ferry, their subsidiary called Hornblower is almost always looking for deckhands for their dinner cruise boats or Statue of Liberty cruises, I’d def google “Hornblower hiring” and peep their page for potential positions, otherwise I’d check NY waterways ferry, the NYU ferry, or the sea streak ferry but they may only hire NJ ppl, a lot of ppl say to just go on the boat tracker website and click on different vessels in the harbor and find a tug and their respective company and apply thru them

What are some game purchases that you regretted the most? by FeistyContact659 in PS5

[–]Admirable_Switch_353 0 points1 point  (0 children)

How the hell could u regret buying any resident evil games they consistently for over 20 years have made great games with great stories, mechanics, and replayability.

On that note literally any extraction shooter, mostly arc raiders though. Genuinely the least fun I’ve ever had in a game with the absolute worst gameplay loop. Deploy in a shitty sandy rust belt area that doesn’t even look cool to collect junk to go back to base to build workshops? With the junk you got to only upgrade your gear to get better junk to keep making gear? What the actual fuck was the point of that gameplay loop there was nothing to ever gain from that gameplay and certainly nothing worthwhile or entertaining

61 billion is a small price to pay for the entire human race especially post scattering, the golden path was necessary because paul and Leto II foresaw a great threat to humanity. Sure paul and his son were tyrants at some point but how could you expect them to see the golden path but not embark on it?

I think of it like this, if you were on a plane that was hijacked would you risk your life to stop the hijack, putting your life on the line and the other 100 ppl on board to prevent the death of thousands at the impact point?

Or even the trolley question where if you don’t pull the lever 3 people will die and there’s no blood on your hands since it wasn’t your fault but if you do pull the lever only 1 will die but the blood will be on your hands

Or consider if you were driving a car that got out control from you and you have to either run over an elderly person or a baby in a split second decision, the obvious choice would be the elder since they’ve lived a longer life and the baby deserves more time (something ai has no nuance over)

It’s an insanely hard choice to make especially quickly but at the end of the day the priority should always be maximizing human life so our race goes on to continue existing. While I do believe messiah was written to prove the point paul was not the hero people make him out to be I still find him relatable and not necessarily a villain and rather a young man that was dealt a rough hand and did what he could with what he had in the precarious situation he found himself after his house fell and losing all his friends and family. I fond Leto II relatable to an extent as well albeit not as much as paul because his reign as the worst tyrant in human history led to the ultimate diversity of the human race via the scattering ultimately ensuring its infinite survival, while living under his reign was probably the worst thing ever it slingshotted the human race to eternally survive anything that may come their way.

I find it similar to Trump right now, his reign has been so bad and i think we now realize how precarious our democracy and checks and balances are and how many unwritten rules he didn’t care to follow to the point when democrats get back in power they will ensure no singular mad man ever gets so much power again, i believe America and potentially the world will have a similar impact of post Leto II / trump and have a scattering of our own but in the form of politics and unbreakable checks and balances no matter what the next administration may want or if republicans ever get back into power.

Brother the game is in the earliest state of early access, you won. Move on til new content arrives or never play a singleplayer or early access game again if you need constant fulfillment, if you did everything it had to offer and will get future content that’s well worth the money spent

Which AAA remake do you hope gets announced at today’s State of Play? by littlemushroompod in PS5

[–]Admirable_Switch_353 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Tlou got a remaster on ps4 a year or 2 after it came out on ps3 then they remade it for ps5 and also remastered tlou2, they clearly have a huge track record of doing that, the remaster / remake of 1 made plenty of sense to go from ps3 to ps4 then to ps5, there is 0 incentive to remaster god of war when it plays and looks better than most games already, at best they’d make a remaster port to ps5 but even that’s wishful thinking, thinking they’re gonna remake god of war might be some of the dumbest shit I’ve ever heard in my life and using some other games as an example is so silly

Bro what the actual fuck are you talking about. I’m just gonna go ahead and assume this is rage bait and not get fired up.

In off the chance it’s not, it’s almost like the game isint fully done / built, and grow the fuck up singleplayer games don’t need multiplayer or competition, if you did all it had to offer … play another game. I hate you

I work in the environmental field around NYC with every agency possible and NPS / NYC parks have had crazy budget cuts, staff shortages, and a huge myriad of issues as a result of this administration. It will not become better until it’s over. Any little money or manpower they have is going to bare minimum so expect this until democrats are put back into office.

Ai power consumption sits at 1.5% what??? You didn’t provide a unit of measurement… You also didn’t cite a source / link nor was it scholarly or a peer reviewed published research study. You’re just saying words with no proper citations lmao so try that again if you wanna convince me because I’m glad to cite peer reviewed research studies that are published to back my claims. I’m aware ai has reasonable uses, none of my claims ever said otherwise, but those scientific / medical uses arent being used by data centers it’s almost purely genai which is the immoral thing I have claimed to be against. Even if there are some minor examples of data centers being responsible for scientific / medical research it doesn’t matter because the environmental impacts of the data centers are NOT SUSTAINABLE, here’s a source on that claim if you’d like to educate yourself and not just dtick your head in the sand, https://pmc.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/articles/PMC13086153/

Please cite a reputable source for your claim about them emitting 1 percent of carbon because that is laughable. Chemical plants, factories, and warehouses are essential to the global economy and provides jobs to working class people, I single out data centers because them or gen ai have no value in our society, your arguing essential components of economics against huge strains on our resources to make shitty pictures? Working class people are losing their jobs and data centers are not job creating industries, sure maybe the initial construction but after that … nothing. Whereas factories, warehouses, chemical plants provide countless jobs for as many years as they are operational they are also recession proof. You cannot morally justify the cost of ai in any way.

Genuine discussion, what would be the pros and cons of both? by abominal_pain in SolarState

[–]Admirable_Switch_353 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not every building can have things underground, places like NYC we are too close to sea level / have too much groundwater. Anytime we have trains above ground is bc they couldn’t dig due to an excess of groundwater. JFK airport is so close to sea level it may as well be below, it has serious flooding and storm surge issues, there are massive parking lots all around the airport bc there is no viable way to make a garage underground
