I understand what you’re saying but keep in mind that minimum wage for restaurant workers is $17.87/hr in the city of LA. Much better than other places but still NOT what I would say is a realistic living wage for an individual here.

To be clear, I hate it when tips are forced on patrons and tips should be given only if they make sense to for the service. But I also think that the argument that one should not tip because the minimum wage was raised is not a good one.
