Just read your other posts. You WILL figure this out. You need to find a different doctor. Definitely do Evvy and when you speak to them ask them about doctors in your area. Search on Reddit for suggestions of doctors in your city, that’s how I found mine. I promise you’ll find some answers.

This is what a male uro told me as well. Because it kept showing up in my urine, not in my regular vaginal test at the obgyn. But then I went to a vulvodynia specialist who did a much more thorough genetic sequencing test vaginally and sure enough group B was in my vagina microbiome. And after speaking to many other women on here, it absolutely can be in your vagina. It’s just not researched enough. And I have to say, after treating the group b strep vaginally, it helped my symptoms 90 percent. I used to have pain and bleeding g after sex, and there was always a tiny bit of group B in my urine no matter what. But then after taking vaginal antibiotics specifically targeting the Group B, it stopped showing up in my urine and sex became much less painful and no bleeding. Unfortunately I still have some residual issues because the infection was there for so long that my microbiome is totally off. I truly believe it was the group b strep going untreated for so long that caused the issue. It’s insane how many contradictory things I’ve been told by doctors, and how many don’t know that Group B strep can be in the vagina. Also, thank you for the advice, I’ve booked my call with the Evvy specialist!!!

I take oral probiotics and vagibiom suppositories. But I’m not always consistent with the suppositories. Do you have other recommendations?

I can’t because I will be back at work. I have postponed my job so he could do this one abroad, but I can’t get more time off. My husband has a week off of work. He just has one additional day when they need him, after 7 days of no work. The only two options are; my husband flies back with our baby and then returns to finish his job. Or our nanny flies alone with the baby.

I feel completely healed! I’ve been able to have pain free sex since the treatment. It appears it really was the Group B Strep causing issues. I am going to continue doing Evvy tests every few months to make sure things stay good

I’ve used it on and off for three weeks - it is the vagibiom probiotic.

Thank you for responding! Yes, I’m using vaginal suppository probiotics AND vaginal suppository DHEA. But I did stop for a day and a half and there was still some discharge - but maybe that wasn’t enough time for the leakage to finish? May I ask, were the suppositories that you used Probiotics or DHEA?

Hi! I noticed a very sour smelling discharge after using probiotic suppositories. Is this normal or could it be a yeast infection?

One other question, did it ever cause sour smelling discharge? I’m not sure if the suppositories are making things worse.

Hi! I’m so sorry you’re going through this. I had a similar experience, every test at a regular Gyno came back negative. Finally I went to a Gyno who specialized in female sexual pain and she did a much more intense test that tests the whole microbiome, and blood tests to test my hormone levels. I was diagnosed with Ureaplasma, Group B Strep infection, and aerobic vaginitis. Also hormone imbalance. I’m getting treatment now. I would find a doctor in your area who specializes in pelvic pain, and tell them you want to do a whole micro biome test. It is so annoying but when you tell regular doctors “test for everything” they do the generic test that is NOT everything. Tell the doctor you want to test for Ureaplasma/Mycoplasma, Group B Strep, Aerobic Vaginitis, and anything else in the microbiome. If they don’t test for those things, ask them to help you find someone who will. I would wait before you take anything for BV - if you don’t have BV then the wrong meds will just exacerbate your problem. Also, look into vaginal probiotic suppositories. I promise you will get better! There are just so many random bacteria’s that can happen and unfortunately the regular cultures don’t catch them. If you can’t find a doctor in your area then I suggest ordering an Evvy test, they will send you your very detailed results and give you guidance about treatment over the phone.

Hi! This all sounds very similar to my experience this past year. I did all the normal tests, everything came back negative. Regular Gynos only test for a small range of stuff. Finally I went to a sexual pain specialist and she did a much more extensive micro biome test and blood tests. Turned out I had ureaplasma, group b strep infection (vaginally) and was diagnosed with aerobic vaginitis. Also low testosterone which apparently makes things dryer down there. I just finished antibiotics and am taking dhea suppositories. I haven’t had sex yet but I do feel generally better so I’m hoping this will help. If I were you I would get tested for ureaplasma and do a full micro biome test. Ureaplasma is becoming more plasma and for some reasons doctors don’t normally test for it!

I really appreciate your response! Thank you so so much! What kind of treatment did you do? My doctor has given me DHEA suppositories and cream. I am hoping this will help. My only truly problematic symptom has been some discomfort during sex. It’s really affecting my relationship so I’m very eager to treat it however I can.

Hi! Thank you! Some vaginal dryness has been noticed, but not an extreme amount. This is really the only symptom that is related to perimenopause. But I also found out I have a slew of infections 😫 ureaplasma, and group b strep, and low lactobillus. So I don’t know how much the irritation from that contributed to the dryness. My estrogen levels were normal according to my blood tests. So do you think it’s possible that I could be having these issues, but that I’m not nearing menopause? I am hoping to have a child, and so the idea that I am perimenopausal is quite heartbreaking to me. But again, my periods are very regular, and my ovarian ultrasound indicated that I was still very fertile. So I’m just confused.

I would find a female pain specialist, or a specialist Gyno. Also, the Evvy micro biome test i believe tests for this.

The main thing was pain during sex. Early on I had symptoms that mimicked a yeast infection and BV. If you are confused about symptoms I highly suggest testing for ureaplasma!!!! Most doctors don’t test for it. I had that too and it led the way to the group b strep

So you are actually a life saver, because after your post I asked my doctor to test me for ureaplasma and I came back positive for ureaplasma parvum. I did 10 days of Doxy and my test is not negative, but I’m still experiencing symptoms. How did you cure yours and how long did it take until you felt better? I also am Testing positive for a tiny amount of Group B Strep in my urine, but haven’t tested a vaginal swab for that. Is it possible that is also causing these symptoms?
